My mother is a Narcissist and every point that you mentioned was right. I was a victim and she used to degrade me everytime. She went to the extent of even breaking my marriage. Fortunately I got an opportunity to stay away from her after marriage. She was not able to digest my successful career and used to speak ill about me. At last I totally isolated and ignored her completely. She is not in this world anymore but one of her other victims , my father was brainwashed by her so much that he starts with that legacy. If I had known about this personality disorder early in my life, I would have ignored her early on and moved with my life.

You are right Ananthi. My own brother also one of the norcicist. He used to say I am always great and feel like everyone should say wow.. whenever other people are seeing him. Thinking like he is the only person coming from poor family background in the world and he is growing individually without getting any help from others and helping others to grow. Now he is settled in US and thinking like in the world everyone will come beg to him.

Accepting a narcissist??? May be your husband has got some narcissistic traits which means he is not toxic or harmful. You have also mentioned that they won't stop you from being happy ... Hah... They will never let their victim to be happy... And its not so easy as you think to just say that you want peace and you can go ahead to stay so. This also means that you have not experienced a full fledged narcissists abuse. Your positivity and optimism doesn't matter while you are living with a narcissist. That is the effect of Narcissistic abuse, called, gaslighting. Doubt their own ability, own decision, blaming themselves, too much guilt..etc. This emotional trauma will create huge impact on rest of your life. If you have a child, you will have to know the hell of hell. Not that much easy to come out. This will drain your inner strength, destroy your self esteem, you can't trust the new relationship, you won't trust people, you will feel yourself low, their unpredictable behaviour will keep you always under panic. Don't worry.. There is no way back. Cut the supply. Cut the ties. Don't look back. You are not the only empath in this world to manipulate. She/ he will move to another. You go away. NPD people will never ever give up. Everything is an agenda for them. Without agenda they will not do anything. Their core manipulative behavior and traits has been sharpenned everyday. To keep your mental peace, to live the rest of your life at least pain less, through them away. Don't worry. Parasites will survive. As an empath first you keep yourself safe. No means NO.

Really grieve every moment of my life till this very second...having any other narcissistic personality in your life can be replaced but a narcissistic parent can ruin your life to ashes....broken by a narcissistic mother to an extent that I couldn't focus on the 'normal' life that others of my age (early 30s) live💔💔💔after my dad, who contributed considerably to my mother's condition during their early life passed away.....to add fuel to the fire, i have a violent, addicted, gigantic and abusive male sibling whom my mother literally worships....she ignores even when he thrashes me....he has hit my head several times with a ladle i ended up with bumps on my head the next day to college; held my neck and pushed it against a slab and I couldn't turn my neck for 10 days; hit me with a plastic chair until it broke, kicked my lower abdomen on a mensus day...i feel horrible when i hear or see him....sometimes I feel that I can adopt a mother and move to a new place to live in peace....other times I pity my mother and stay due to her age.....I excelled in studies, satisfied my parents with all that a child could do, but my sibling bunked college,didn't complete degree, broke costly cellphones, bullet bike bit still, he has authority over me and my mother doesn't mind....I feel I'd rather die but don't have the guts to commit suicide....my parents marriage was out of love...whereas I haven't been in peace anytime to see that aspect of life....I dunno for what, my mother calls up my relatives and say all possible cooked up bad things about me...but my relatives, since they know me well and trust me they don't heed to it, but I don't like them coz they throw words aty dead father and a few look down upon my family now after I lost my dad....I haven't done anything wrong so far and have been sincere to God....but my life makes me doubt God💔💔💔😭......the pain is unexplainable.....I pray that I die soon naturally and peacefully.....really don't wanna live

Narcissism lies in spectrum. Everyone has a bit of narcissism. It is ok if it is within healthy limits. But a person diagonsed with npd (narcissistic personality disorder) is on a whole new level. A person with npd cannot self reflect and accept that there is some flaw in them. In their mind, they are 100 percent perfect and all others are imperfect or inferior. So probably, you might not be someone with npd
