@@no.1garbagetruckfan654 I now realise that there was only 1 mattress and the one taken was the base. Most councils no longer accept mattresses because they could be contaminated and be a health risk.

In the NYC mattresses need to be encased in a plastic bag or they won’t be picked up on account of potential bed bugs. Maybe that’s the case here?
