It is also a very common suture in implantology and after extractions of molars. Thank you so much for the video. You explain so perfect.

Thank you for all of your videos! I like how you teach us how to suture and the applications of each technique. It might have worked a little too well since I'm the go to for difficult lac repairs, rather than my attending now...

Had ORIF on the 17th of September and a figure of 8 was used for the deep fascia. Interesting to see how it’s done.

In this type of laceration we use absorbable or we also can use catgut? Plz guide

what is the preferred technique to close muscle or fascia? and could you make a video on types of sutures and needles? thanks in advance😊
@minimedlessons4 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the suggestion! I agree and like the idea. I'll add it to my list of "videos to make." Thanks! Regarding your question of closing muscle or fascia, it sort of depends on the location. Regardless of location, most of the time we use an absorbable suture (most commonly Vicryl) with something like an inverted simple interrupted technique. I kind of talk about this in this video of mine: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIvcqKl9qbmLmJY

Can we use this Suture on a injury which requires 2 single suture instead
@minimedlessons4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can work quite well for small lacerations. Be mindful of scaring though, as it can result in possibly more prominent scaring than other techniques.

can your incision grow over the stitches after there was some swelling the first 3 days after the surgery? what will the Dr have to do if that happens to remove the sutures?
@KH-ks7si3 жыл бұрын
Usually w these in the cases he mentioned you use absorbable sutures so no removal is necessary, also I dont think it will grow over, thats why you put the knot on the side. I think this is usually used for wider holes.

Is this cross or figure of 8 ??
@minimedlessons2 жыл бұрын
It’s a version of figure of 8 that is also called cruciate or cross pattern.
@caylarotenberry36063 жыл бұрын
This is a cruciate pattern. Not a figure of 8.
@minimedlessons3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching! The technique I demonstrated in this video is commonly known as a horizontal figure-of-8. Some people also know it by the name of cruciate pattern, as you mentioned. Additionally, there’s a vertical version similar to this called Figure 8 that is commonly used by dentists. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed. 👍🏼
