Suunto 9Baro vs Vertical vs 9Peak

I really love the look of the Vertical. I think we can see it as a new generation Suunto Core from back in the days... It is the "spiritual" successor that line of watches that also included the old Ambit's. There even was a Ambit named Vertical a few years back.! My problem with this watch is the price, it is similar to Fenix 7 but Suunto is not in the same position they where years back. They have been in a weak position ever since the failed Suunto Spartan came out 10 years ago. So Suunto should compete on price and not try to think they are on the same level as Garmin. $600 for the solar Titanium version and $500 for the SS version without solar should have been a success for Suunto. But with that said the Vertical is a major step forward for Suunto so let's hope they will prosper. I am a long fan of the brand and have been ever since the Vector came out in 1999. But for the past 6 years I have been mostly using my Garmin watch. I really hope they will come back but odds are against them. Just as an example, the Suunto team in Finland is less then 100 people, Garmin have a total of 20000 people working in 35 countries. So this is a true Goliath vs David story.

2:39 now with vertical there's true 24/7 Daily HR tracking. In previous watched it was like "every 10 minutes the watch would turn the continuois hr tracking for 1 minute".

Interesting actually it works same with vertical on my 9 peak pro, when you touch the HR sensor.

Hi Theo: Have the same Suunto 9 Baro Titanium same as yours. Nice video. Suunto vertical hardware looks very nice but software still "feels" very suunto 9 baro. Still needs some work. Cheers.
