Enlightened beings have long been shrouded in mystery and misconception. From the belief that they cannot feel anger or engage in intimate relationships, to the notion that they live highly ascetic and restrictive lives, there are many myths and misunderstandings about what it means to be enlightened.
In this video, I address and refute these common misconceptions, and shed light on what enlightenment is not. Through examining various teachings and philosophical perspectives, we challenge the notion that enlightenment requires the renunciation of pleasure, or that it renders individuals immune to normal human emotions like anger and desire. The aim is to promote a deeper understanding of what it means to live an enlightened life, and to encourage viewers to question their preconceived notions about what it means to be truly awakened.
