My ex-wife got me into appreciating Suzanne Vega's music when we saw her play live in Cornwall in 1990, quality!

Met her in a store in mid 80s. We hung out casually for a few minutes but I've never forgotten. She must've been magnetic.

A beautiful composition from a woefully overlooked artist.
@eldiran210 жыл бұрын
Woefully overlooked, yes, but by the mainstream, which always prefers the lesser talents, less challenging 'pop stars'....people like Vega will always be appreciated deeply, sincerely, by the more enlightened few.

Man she sure is a beauty in many ways.

What a performance! Suzanne may be best songwriter of last 50 years.

@@willsomervell8246 Will Somervell. I've been around plenty and for me Suzanne Vegas is definitely one of the greatest writers. Check out albums like "Solitude Standing" - one great song after another. As far as other great writers, I would include people like Leonard Cohen. Both artists are true poets that wed music and words in an almost mystical blend.

Her complete performance on the show was never released. It seems that only one song was featured on a official 'Sessions At West 54th' compilation. I have it because I recorded on my VHS almost all the Sessions.

Henry Thoreau wrote that he had never met anyone who was truly awake, and should he do so, he wondered how he would look them in the face.
@eldiran210 жыл бұрын
I suppose one must be 'awake' oneself to a) recognize another, and b) be open enough to look them in the eye for the full reflection they offer.

Good song for those mothers that don't understand their daughters. Especially those daughters or sons with ME/CFS & other illness in that Axe-of. 😔

One of the great episodes of Sessions. It was a half hour of Richard Thompson and a half hour of Suzanne. PLEASE upload the whole thing if you get the chance. Thank you very much in advance.
