Tariffs will increase costs of finished goods and components used throughout US manufacturing. This will be an immediate and huge hike in inflation. To fight inflation the Fed will have to hike interest rates which will be wonderful for the billionaires but possibly take away the middle class. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

A collapse has began!!! Rich people know this.... they are hedging... through hedge funds. It costs them about 6% a year to do this. Those that aren't rich are not hedge and are at great risk in the bubble of all bubbles with the debt at all time highs. The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, The stock market's volatility, coupled with a reduced income, is making me anxious about having enough for retirement.

Many Americans suffer a lot financially under Capitalism. They simply don't understand (or don't want to face the reality) that Capitalism is what they should channel their frustrations at, rather than at one another, or at China or Russia. Under Capitalism, financial crises are created every certain number of years, it's not a stable economic system. The idea that Capitalism will bring a trickle down economy, has been proven again and again not to be working. As long as so many Americans continue to vote for the two mainstream political parties (Republican and Democratic), both which are aligned with the extreme implementation of Capitalism in the United States, the country will continue to endure financial hardship caused by inflation and other adverse outcomes of Capitalism, such as huge inequality. The U.S. government (and many of its people) thinks it still manages / controls the world. It no longer does ... It's time for implementing Socialism in North America, similar to the one with Chinese characteristics that's implemented in China, or at least the Social Welfare Model of some European countries, by all conscientious people starting to vote for the Socialist Party of the United States.

@@angelinacisneros7831you know those taxes and property insurance costs that are skyrocketing ? The renter is paying those. The landlord already has to keep the rental in safe and functioning condition to rent it. If you want to have low rent - move to a low rent area and rent from someone who has their rentals paid off AND does their own repairs. Property management companies cost money too. I lived in a great private owned complex for years. Well kept. No air conditioning (in CA) and carport. Good rent. Good management. Then the owner died. The family had to sell one of 3 properties just to pay the stepped up taxes of well over $1 million dollars. The rents at the other 2 properties went up. Because they HAD too. Now - they are thinking of selling the whole lot to an investment group. Good luck with finding anything affordable after that.

Finished my property fence since wood comes from Canada. Installed my external security because unrest and increased theft expected. Replaced my 18 year refrigerator because even though a German company who also makes things here in USA - this refrigerator is put together in China. (GE was purchased by China btw so I didn’t buy GE this go round) The refrigerator needed a part no longer made. My washer/Dryer is fairly basic so I think I can fix them.

Call your local senior center and ask them about senior housing for low income! You can still have money in a savings account and that is barely taken into consideration. You are basically going to pay about a third of your income, whatever that income is monthly.

These Medicare Advantage Plans have the common nickname of Disadvantage Plans for a reason. They are only good while you stay healthy, but when you become sick, they stink. They shouldn't even be referred to as insurance. Trumps pick to head CMS has been hawking these plans on TV for years, due to his conflict-of-interest financial motives. Hospitals love them because they pay out so little in claims. Insurance cos. love them because they receive such high commission fees hawking them to the public.

@@dannynavarro1270 I am terrified that trump will turn legacy Medicare over to Medicare Advantage. If he does that it will be just another vehicle to take from others to give to the oligarchs. Medicare Advantage currently costs the government 22% more than legacy Medicare does. So he is lying when he says it will save money. It will further line the pockets of the wealthy while denying care for the people who pay into it.

Advantage is the worst insurance to have, there are 2 different KZbin reps who report on what types of plans to pick from, believe "Medicare school" one is called. I chose supplemental N, it's a traditional plan. The company I retired from paid for a group to help us with Medicare selection, I just told them what plan I wanted, rep told me it was an excellent choice. Commercials on TV only push the "Advantage" plans for a reason.

Suze Orman is a hero. She talks reality. Only Suze could come up with a security case to keep personal documents and have it made out of the material of a fireman's helmet so that it is impervious to fire, smoke and water. She walks the walk and talks the talk and never forgets from a spiritual point of view that there are people less fortunate that she is. Chris, i don't know that you read this. Someone below said have her on more often and I feel that that would be a very good idea. People are going to need her and I don't know that they know how much they will need her.

Eliminating the FICA contribution Cap for Social Security would mostly solve the problem of social security running out of income. And it could be done in 15 minutes. Currently, people making over $168,600 (in 2024) do not have to pay FICA tax for Social Security on their income above that amount. This is just another legal way to allow wealthier people to keep more of their money. Where is the fairness there? People making under $168,600 pay 6.2 percent on all of their income while the employer pays another 6.2 percent. Self employed pay the full amount. Why should wealthier people pay FICA on a smaller percentage of their income that those less wealthy?

Plus, he has a beautiful family and many women have slept with him or still want to sleep with him even at 78 yrs old. Maybe we would do better if we saw him as a role model of sorts for the young people of this country. Also, his "Art of the Deal" highlighted his astute literary style and I'm sure it has sold many more copies than anything Suze Orman has put out there.
