I signed prenup naivly beiving that I didnot care about his previous assests if we would divorce. Well, it gave my husbend power to control abuse and manipulate me and my 3 sons. I am getting dicorce after 13 years, but it's pretty bad. Unfortunatly I didnot know my rights and laws, as I was not from this country and he took an advantage on us easily.

A man has all the rights to want to protect his assets, especially when women file most divorces and destroy men in family courts. That doesn't qualify as taking advantage of someone - sorry, but I don't empathize with you.

You can also get screwed not signing a prenup and getting married. I forgot the name of the famous model she was going through a divorce and her husband died and he did not put her in his will.

States require a percentage or amount that goes to the spouse. In Louisiana the spouse gets 1/3.
