Not being picky but would the bolts not be better turned around to minimise turbulence under the foil? 🤷🤷

Hello dear friend, I have a similar engine mounted on a Nucanoe Unlimited and I'm thinking about making a hydrofoil. Could you clarify for me, what is the thickness of the plate (in millimeters) and whether or not it really is a good change?

Hi @andor1nha! The plate is .125" or 3.175mm thick. Normally when sitting in my Hobie PA17t or Hobie Tandem Island, I would be sitting near its stern. With my weight and the weight of the outboard and any other accessories the bow of the kayak will be riding high off the water. I installed the hydrofoil strictly for the purpose that it would help to raise the stern of the kayak when moving thereby lowering the bow which in turn would result in a smoother ride while pushing less water. I'm happy with it and feel that the plate is working as advertised. Just make sure that your outboard is angled correctly for your transom mount. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmbUhWecrN11p8U

I just made my own hydrofoil and put it on my Suzuki....I'm not paying 116 dollars for some aluminum bent on the ends

It is suppose to help a boat plane out sooner by causing the engine to lift upwards when moving forward in the water.
