Just a note since i found this video. Your ignition key lock has a built in resistor to prevent thieves from starting the bike if they break the lock. thats probably busted thats why u needed an extra in your wiring. otherwise the ECU wont work.

Hi i have had a wild guess at what your problem may be using google translate , if you have changed your ignition switch for a cheaper chinese one they don't tend to work well because of the security resistor fitted to suzuki switches , i would use a genuine suzuki ignition switch if i were you , if your problem is that you have lost spark but changed no components , i would check the kill switch , starter button , the clutch switch and side stand switch, i tend to bypass the clutch and side stand switches on every suzuki i have owned as they tend to fail , here is a video that may help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJSqoamKfa9mnKs thanks.

i used a 0.6w 100 ohm resistor from maplins but they can be sourced from ebay .

Hi, Thanks for the video, I’ve currently got the same issue with a cheap after market ignition. In the video it just looks like you have splice the resister in line with the orange coloured cable... Is that right? It’s not bridges to another wire or anything? Also, you’ve done this on the wire harness side rather than the ignition side. Is that just because you were working on the harness already? Thanks.

Hi, the wiring loom came as a box of spaghetti the previous owner had used bullet connectors for the ignition switch so I spliced the resistor between the wire, I don't think it would make a difference if you put it in the ignition switch side wires of the connector.

Man my bandit 400 has been a huge headache. Was cutting out after 30mins so thought carbs. Rebuilt carbs. Still the same. Then tried to rebuild cdi with capacitors and she fired up for 5 seconds and died again. If I short the capacitors and empty them she runs for another 5 seconds. So I thought cdi is fudged. So order new cdi from Netherlands. That' comes does nothing. Then I thought maybe it's the pulse generator so I order new on of them. Fit it and now I get one spark and then nothing till I empty the capacitors then one spark again. Pulling my hair out, sleepless nights and £500 in just in parts I don't know what to do or where to check. Everything looks fine and I've been over everything apart from igniton. I feel like the capacitors are not getting grounded even though I fitted new tip150 transistors. Any advice?

Hi always best to start with the basics , if you have fitted capacitors to replace the battery i would be inclined to go back to standard and refit the battery , check your earths and components coming off the loom , i find it easier to unplug everything except what is required for the engine to run, then if it runs plug each component in until you find the one that is the problem, also check each part of the fuel system for debris or vacuum in the tank , hope this helps .

@@bustnutz8224 capacitors were to rebuild the cdi which control spark. Only thing controlling spark is cdi, pulse generator and coil packs. Change its Al and checked wiring. God knows man

Could you list the connections you made in the ignition to get it to work please I'm currently having the same issue where my parking lights and on switch are backwards and I keep blowing fuses
@bustnutz82246 жыл бұрын
it sounds like you have an earth fault which is the black and white wire , i ran a wire off of the black and white on the ignition switch directly to the negative on the battery, i connected red to red, orange to orange, grey to grey, brown to brown, orange and yellow on the ignition switch with a resistor soldered in to orange and red in the loom then black and white directly to the battery negative . hope that makes sense, as an after thought i had a mk2 600 bandit that kept blowing fuses when the ignition was turned on. After unplugging every thing and plugging every thing back one thing at a time it turned out to be the horn was knackered. I went through a fair few fuses before discovering that... oh how i laughed.

I rebuilt the carburetor on a 650 Suzuki Enduro with two spark plugs there's no. Electric starter it's all kick but no spark. I clean the spark plugs, a screwdriver test for a spark on the coil and no spark. There's two spark plugs. driving me up the wall looking for a divorce haha not really but what's the flip.

Hi bud where does the white wire got to on the loom side thanks
@bustnutz82243 жыл бұрын
Hi there are two whites in the loom 1 from the fuse box to the headlight and left side handlebar switches and another from the cdi unit to the coils, there is a black an white wire to the ignition switch which is an earth, the earth or ground wires on bandits are not great and can give many problems lol hope that helps.

Its a bit difficult to diagnose , without seeing the bike in person , only advice i can give is check through what you have done and go though the loom and check earths / grounds and all connections also check your fuses .

I would check to see if you have power from your battery to the ignition switch and from there to the coil when the ignition is turned on , check all earths / grounds and wiring connections are good, check all wiring especially around the head stock for breaks or chaffs , check the clutch switch and sidestand switch check the kill switch and starter switch as these can have a dry connection and not contact properly i just open the switch housing halfs and spray in wd40 and move the switches back and fourth clean out if required and spray a bit in and put back together , as tempting as it is to put a load of new parts on all at once i find it best to try one thing at a time , good luck.

Hi, ive got the same issue on my suzuki inazuma 400, any chance i could send you some pictures of the wires ive got and you can give me some pointers on where to install the resistor, as ive got only 4 wires coming out the connecter to the ignition, and 2 are looped. could you give me your email address so i can send some pictures, would greatly appreciate the help, havent had the bike running for around 3 years now because of this issue.
