Put same tank on my DR 650,best feeling ever not having to stress about mileage.Did sections 3&4 WABDR no worrying about fuel

I love my 5.3 on my DR. It's nice to see the gas left in the tank .

My speedometer stopped working on my KLR once. The screw connecting the cable to the speedo had backed out from the vibrations. Easy roadside fix.

If I keep my DR between 55-60mph I average around 50mpg or more. I deleted the PAIR valve, the bike runs better and no popping noise on deceleration. Another thing I added was finned valve covers from Shotcraft to help keep the top of the engine cooler.

200+ mile ride well done man. You need those highway pegs for those long rides!

Another good video!. Check where the speedo cable goes into the front wheel. Sometimes where the drive in the front wheel will not engage.

This is a nice video. Very interesting and inspiring me to get out there and ride! Thank you.

I'm glad the smaller tank is working out. 250 is a great range. Visibility of the fuel level seems nice. Good luck sorting out the speedo. I went for a ride the other day and somehow the cable got rubbed through by my wheel, and I lost my cable holder. I bought a replacement of the cable and holder. Yours looked fine in the brief moments it was in the video.

Routinely get 235m out off mine without going to reserve putting about 4.5 gal back in. Mixed riding.

Nice ride and test, I need to do that with my DR650.

Check the threaded collar that attaches the cable to the speedometer body. Vibration may have loosened it enough to disengage the cable.

Better look with the smaller tank...more than enough range for where we ride. I'm doing the same build this winter, with the suspension. I think I will lower it also, using the built in method. Garth

Isn’t a mechanical speedo. So check both ends or broke cable

When my DR speedo stopped working it was the nylon gear in the hub that had lost definition. Now I always put a dab of grease there to prevent wear. A replacement nylon gear was easily sourced (eBay, I think) and replaced.

I've never done more than 200 with mine but know it will go a bit further being i typically get 41mpg but where i ride it can be a long time before gas is an option so we don't ever push it.

I’m taking notes. I’m buying used getting closer to looking for real. I’ll know what mods to look for and what I’ll need to do myself.

Are you still running the DJI wireless mic in your helmet? It sounds really good, whatever you're using
@precipiceofgrind2 ай бұрын
Absolutely. Totally done with GoPro. The Action 4 and Mic 2 are excellent.

@@precipiceofgrind thank you so much, I did switch to your setup I haven't quite perfected a great holding solution for the mic. Thanks again cheers ✌️

@@ADV_Agenda Super glue the magnet that came with the mic into your helmet, it's very strong. And if you want an even greater peace of mind, tie a piece of braided fishing line around the mic clasp and connect the line to your Chin mount for camera. Win win! Stay safe amigo.

@@precipiceofgrind genius idea with the fishing line!! I will definitely do that with the magnet. Thanks again buddy!!!!

@@precipiceofgrind wow 4, looks like I have to subscribe to another channel!😆 Cool stuff, besides riding off road on my KTM I find learning about how the ancient people lived fascinating. Really like the channel Stories by Alex. Oh, and I’m a 64 year old Hard Enduro wannabe. 😆
