This is exactly what I needed to hear. I thought I would be doing way more off-road so I bought a Deer Rosie’s but now I have to commute highway to college and I find the DRZ is lacking super badly on the highway

Thank you for answering the Hwy limitations on both. I cant believe that the aftermarket is not that huge for the Honda. The Suzie also has a Super Moto version, making it a different model since this is a street version.

You need the "elephant ears" on the xr650l, it's not cosmetic thing added by Honda. Those bikes need air flow for cooling. If you get an aftermarket tank like acerbis it is shaped to direct air to the cylinder head. Also the chain looks a bit tight on the XR and it can cause premature wear on the drive shaft splines.

Do you know where to get the STREET-LEGAL KIT for the XR400? Locally the only versions are the XR400R or XR400 without indicators, rear brake light, licence plate holder. I guess one needs sensors for the brake, horn, etc. If anyone knows I would be massively thankful.

The XR is top heavy, and feels every bit of it. I have a DR and it feels easier to horse around than the XR even though it is considerably heavier, as the center of gravity feels much lower than the XR.
