When electrical test point to the CDI box, but that doesn't solve the problem. Coughing or backfire could be due to intermittent spark caused by loose flywheel magnets.

I just did my flywheel abd the starter won't turn like one of the gears is seized but u can feel free play in gears but it won't spin motor over I couldn't even move gear with little pry bar . I removed starter and tested it . Nothing wrong but it feels like something is stopping the gears from spinning it runs fine no noises . Pull start work . I don't get it

Having the same problem with a 2002 Suzuki Vinson 500. New starter and tested used solenoid. Just getting a single click still from solenoid. Starter won't turn at all but pull starting works fine. Did you fix yours?

Most likely you put the washers in the wrong place

Where did you purchase the flywheel with the integrated magnets ? I have the same issue with my arctic cat 400 with the Suzuki Eiger engine.

Its a oem flywheel from Suzuki it should fit your arctic cat.

what do u think of this - I had to clean the Carb & gas tank ,, had some really old gas. Now it will start & run fine for riding ,, after about 5 minutes it wants to die, backfire, cough etc.

Coughing and backfiring when hot could be tight valves, this unit was hard to start but would idle fine then die when throttled up. If the ignition seems intermittent, run through ignition trouble shooting procedure. When sings point to CDI, pull the ignition cover and inspect magnets on flywheel. Hope this helps!

My grandfather just gave me his since he got a new one I'm unsure on how to pull start it let alone anything else because I've never used a suzuki before could you possibly make a video on that or message me how to start it off the pull line?

I'm sure I'm going to need to do some work to it because its sat for a while but I've heard they are a great ATV and I dont want to give up on it lol

Also the choke is extremely hard to move so Idk if that will be a problem in the future if I can get it running

Hi Kaylib, The video was made from a customers machine, we do not have the ATV any more. There is most likely a video on the internet for using the pull start. If the choke is hard to operate it will probably need to be replaced.
