Suzuki Extreme 4x4 Challenge 2023 EP1 of 3.

The Suzuki Extreme 4x4 Challenge is an annual event held in NZ by CowperTrucks. It showcases the best of the best 4x4 Trials teams. The top 10 overall placegetters of the National 4x4 Trials series automatically qualify for the event plus a couple of wildcards. The event has been designed for spectator viewing and TV film production. The SE4x4C is the only televised 4x4 event in NZ. This event provides exposure for the sport and helps find sponsors for competitors. A custom scoring system allows results to be shown live on the day which enables the event to be shown like a race where spectators know positions of competing teams and results after each of the 12 courses. Each course is driven one at a time so all eyes are on each vehicle while competing. There is a 60 second time limit for drivers to negotiate as many of the 10 gates as possible. They are allowed to stop and reverse but must go in the forward direction of the course. Each gate is worth 100 points. They cannot touch the yellow flexi pegs. To score the 100 points the vehicle must pass through the gate without touching the pegs. For more info check out the CowperTrucks fb page or ask a question in the comments below. I love this event. Must go up there for it one of these years. Kind of reminds me of the Ashley Forest Rallysprint, as a one-off event that just epitomises everything about that sport in bitesize fashion.
