Suzuki Motor Corporation (Japanese: スズキ株式会社, Hepburn: Suzuki Kabushiki-Gaisha) is a Japanese multinational corporation headquartered in Minami-ku, Hamamatsu, Japan. Suzuki manufactures automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), outboard marine engines, wheelchairs and a variety of other small internal combustion engines. In 2016, Suzuki was the eleventh biggest automaker by production worldwide. Suzuki has over 45,000 employees and has 35 production facilities in 23 countries, and 133 distributors in 192 countries. The worldwide sales volume of automobiles is the world's tenth largest, while domestic sales volume is the third largest in the country.
In 1909, Michio Suzuki (1887-1982) founded the Suzuki Loom Works in the small seacoast village of Hamamatsu, Japan. Business boomed as Suzuki built weaving looms for Japan's giant silk industry.[10] In 1929, Michio Suzuki invented a new type of weaving machine, which was exported overseas. The company's first 30 years focused on the development and production of these machines.
Despite the success of his looms, Suzuki believed that his company would benefit from diversification and he began to look at other products. Based on consumer demand, he decided that building a small car would be the most practical new venture. The project began in 1937, and within two years Suzuki had completed several compact prototype cars. These first Suzuki motor vehicles were powered by a then-innovative, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder engine. It had a cast aluminum crankcase and gearbox and generated 13 horsepower (9.7 kW) from a displacement of less than 800cc.
With the onset of World War II, production plans for Suzuki's new vehicles were halted when the government declared civilian passenger cars a "non-essential commodity." At the conclusion of the war, Suzuki went back to producing looms. Loom production was given a boost when the U.S. government approved the shipping of cotton to Japan. Suzuki's fortunes brightened as orders began to increase from domestic textile manufacturers. But the joy was short-lived as the cotton market collapsed in 1951.

The engine and the gear is made in Japan and the shell and the assembling is made in Hungary.

Wir fahren seit über zwanzig Jahren Suzuki in unserer Familie vom Swift 1 - 4 bis zum Vitara LY. Im Gegensatz zu unserem VW EOS 2.0 (Gut 1 Liter Ölverbrauch auf 1000 Kilometer) habe ich bei keinem Suzuki auch nur einen Tropfen Öl zwischen den Kundendienstintervallen nachfüllen müssen👍. Ja, es sind einfache Autos aber genau das macht sie so zuverlässig und langlebig. Sie haben zwar kein Markenimage aber sie rosten einem selbst nach knapp 20 Jahren und 297.000 Kilometern nicht unter dem Allerwertesten weg, wie es bei manchen deutschen Premiumherstellern ⭐️ seit Jahrzehnten der Fall ist.

@@Investlist My mother has had her Swift for 11 years, great little car and superb during wintertime in Norway with Suzuki allgrip 4x4 system👍it works waaay better than Haldex and other awd systems

Ich fahre seit 40 Jahren nur Japaner und habe seit kurzem einen Gebrauchten ignis mit Automatik in comfort Plus Ausstattung. Zu meinem Erstaunen ist er wirklich sehr gut ausgestattet und verbraucht trotz 90 PS im Berufsverkehr kaum 5 Liter. Hier und da sieht man schon das gespart wurde. Viele Teile aus Kunststoff ein sehr dünner Teppich im Innenraum und im Motorraum wurde am Lack gespart. Ich hoffe trotzdem das er noch 10 Jahre hält.

I've had 4 Suzuki's 2 swifts a grand vitara 1.9ddis a 1.6 vitara all been really reliable and well built. 👌

Good to see this video. I thought Suzuki was a myth, I was meant to take receipt of my s cross in July. In august it hadn’t even been in production. Happy to say a week later we were told it was on route from Japan to the uk. So now been told no later than October. Been a great summer since our car broke and we didn’t want to pay almost £1000 to fix it since ours was meant to be 3 weeks away. And Suzuki said there weren’t any delays lol. So we’ve had no trips out and had to cancel our staycation as we couldn’t get there. Oh and Suzukis aftercare really sucks. We only found out about the delays when we chased it up multiple times and was told something different by a different person each time. I tell you I will never deal with Suzuki again. First and last time, can’t wait until 2025 when I can get a new one elsewhere. Because I know for 3 years I’m going to have terrible service if this is the experience I’ve had before I even receive my car.

Not to keen on the new suzuki range . Hence why ive stuck with mitsubishi...even though there not shipping cars to the UK anymore. My 2020 mitsubishi asx has been a fantastic car . And the backup has been brilliant as well..

I’ve run Suzuki cars since 2007 and will continue to run them. They are reliable, durable, fun to drive and relatively inexpensive. I think that the problems you are having are more about how the world is at the moment, than Suzuki specific problems. It could have happened with any manufacturer. I’m sure the new car will be great and as Suzuki cars are very reliable, you will only need to deal with basic servicing for many years.

@@stephaniemorley3697 ordered in February, still waiting. Seemingly it’s on it way from Japan to uk. So no later than October we were told by the dealer. Hope yours isn’t as long as mine has been fingers crossed for you.

@@lesklower7281 The previous model of Swift has been assembled in multiple factories including Hungary. But after 2016 MSC (Magyar Suzuki Corp) modified to make only compact SUV's. The 2016/17 model Swift moved to SE-Asia.
