For the class in which it competes, it is a great bike. Why do people continie to compare it with 250 -300cc plus bikes. It makes no sense! Please be realistic! If you are not interested in this class of bike, don't read the review. Don't leave tasteless comments if the whole scenario is not for you. This bike is built for people who are interested in a good looking 150cc bike. It is not built for people who wants a +300cc bike and it is certainly not priced according to 300cc bikes! If you want a bigger bike, go find the appropriate review!

Being from the UK it feels very strange to be seeing a brand new carb model. But for the equivelent of £1800 for a brand new sports commuter it seems like a steel. The gsxr125 we have is euro 5 fuel injectected, 15hp and arguably better looking but all at nearly £4500, nearly 90000 rand. No wonder the bike industry in this country is struggling to get newer, younger riders.

The gixxer 150 is a great bike, but the naked version is best. It's also a lot of fun and easy to ride on gravel and easy trails while in the standing position. It's very inexpensive for such a great bike and its low and high speed handling is excellent.

@@BlackMamba-lt8oe they have different riding positions and the fared version is about 15 kilos heavier, not the same. Different riding ergonomics is obviously a very big difference on what you can do and how you can ride the bike. Adding 15 kilos changes the power to weight ratio about 10% higher in favor of the naked version, again not the same.

I had one for a lone bike yesterday very manoeuvrable, but not as good as my old Suzuki FXR150 which had 6 speeds 😂

Yeah, couldn't agree more, but we know Bill and he's an honest reviewer of bikes, but he owns a couple of classic Suzukis which is why he has lots of their gear. Still, it's a bad mistake, and we let our feelings be known.

Disappointed in your opinion James, just because it doesn't fit in with our very fortunate world experience doesn't make it any less valid, does it? Perhaps more valid, given the positive impact it will have on some lucky individual on the far side of the planet? The next Mir or Rins, perhaps? I don’t care where a motorcycle is made, my motorcycle is made in Thailand. You seem to be taking a moral high ground and believe that I think this motorcycle beneath me. I don’t believe this at all. In my opinion the motorcycle is not worthy of the gixxer name and calling it a race replica is far fetched. The reason I wrote it’s designed to make a quick buck is because these are designed to make profit by selling large quantities with small markups. The gixxer livery is just to make money
