Suzuki GSF 1200 Bandit Rebuild Catch up

Damage, the 1200 Bandit needed some work done to combat the rat bike rust getting out of hand. It was time to get the rust dealt with so the bike can have some reworking into its next phase. Without showing the tedious hours of taking apart, cleaning and repainting, I'm getting closer to putting the bike back together. Personally I blame the painting on @springy 2112

great vid, i was in the market for a new bike then the pitter patter of tiny feet was announced for july.... hows that for timing! Anyway i think ill be just giving my bandit a little TLC over the winter and keeping her... how did you get the old paint off from your wheels?? and would you recommend tinned paint over a spray gun?

Well congratulations! From memory I just rubbed the wheels down - I try and avoid any chemical strippers as they can be hard to completely remove. For wheels, tinned paint is just fine - spray guns give the best results but for such a small job it's a trade off between the time taken to setup and clean after.

Looking better than that monstrosity you had off Del, but there again it wouldn’t have taken a lot to make it look better 😂 Have you seen his latest abomination.... if he’s going for an award, for the ugliest bike ever made, I think he’s nailed it 👍🏼

Don't speak too soon, you haven't seen the finished bike ;) Both bikes are/were rats - they were never intended not to be ugly - rats are intended to provoke people who have fixed ideas about what a bike should look like and Wasteland is fairly niche - there are plenty of people who love that style. From what I can see Del is getting paid very nicely by KZbin because people go and watch his channel to be shocked at what he is doing (as well as those who like it). If that were me I would do more of the same - to win at KZbin you do what gets more views and Del is clearly winning. Skäl David

Which is a fair point, I did comment on his channel “that we are all different “ but also said how “ugly” it was. But in true Del style, he deletes the comments he doesn’t like. If you want to provoke a reaction, you should be able to take the rough with the smooth.

David Hi ! , love that colour it looks very similar to the original wheel and engine code.. I will be doing my wheels and engine when I get the tins(tank mudguard and body panels) resprayed in the winter .. do you have any info on the paint brother ? Lovely to see you busy in the workshop . Thanks. I'm good and hope you are too. Just took the time to do some work on the car (dealing with rust and leaks) and this. Funnily enough it is not so different from original but it was accidental. Had to respray the wheel as I didn't like the first colour I used, Wheels were eTech Bavarian dark anthracite - slightly lighter than OEM and the frame was Halfords BMW sparkling graphite which is a little blue, but so I think was the OEM. Dunno yet how it will look when it's back together! Great hear from you and hope you are keeping well. Skäl David

Hi , how to remove the rpm lock on Ktm bike

On a gen 2 Duke, Piggyback - such as rapid Bike Evo or Coober. The stock ECU is locked so the only way is to use a second ECU to change the signals to the bike.

Moto Mirius I have a question? What if I remove the catalytic converter on Ktm bike without ecu remap.. will the performance drop?
