I was young, I was doing pretty well, and I bought my first and last motorcycle brand new at a dealership. I road it for about 6k miles. I learned how to scrape my knee, wheelie, and I would do an indicated 165mph for 20 minutes at a time. It would never skip a beat. It was so incredibly stable and forgiving, and so fast. It was so much fun I decided to sell the bike before I died. After a long ride I would look back at it as I was walking into my house and think to myself, what an insane little machine. 1st gear hit 90mph!. What people don’t know is that 1st gear is just enough power to keep the front end almost weightless without doing a wheelie with the throttle. The front tire being weightless is the fastest a bike can possibly accelerate. That means you will accelerate faster than other bikes up to 90mph unless you are racing an incredibly skilled rider. The bike was a k6 gsxr600. This video is giving me goosebumps.
@stoneautomotive2 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with getting it off the line with ease, certainly one of the fastest bikes I own to 60mph 👍 Glad you enjoyed the video 😎

@@stoneautomotive yeah my good friend who told me to buy the bike had a k5 gsxr 1000. He was a very experienced rider. I’d beat him to 100mph every time, then he would blow by me. The entire time I was riding it I would think to myself “how can motorcycles possibly get much better than this” I recently started looking into bikes again only to find out little has changed since then and they are fundamentally still the same bikes. Not sure how true that is.

Had my fair share of bikes, 125 cbr250, mc22 cbr250rr, movistar 06 cbr600rr, repsol 09 cbr1000rr, harley davidson v rod, k6 gsxr600rr, k5 gsxr1000, 16 s1000rr. Ive always tried to own the 600 variants aswell as the 1000 variants of each bike to see what each manufacturer has to offer, so far in my journey most of it has been honda and suzuki. What can i say about honda, great overall, well rounded, 1000s are underpowered compared to other makes but generally very user friendly. Suzuki, monster engines especially the k6 1000 stonker of a motor, shit brakes on the 600 and 1000, great ergonomics. Did you add a dyno jet power commander with the exhaust system? Do you ever plan on rebuilding the engine? Like boring and honing for bigger pistons? Turbo? I've had my k6 750 for 13 years now. Only 35,000 miles on the clock and I've never had it over 7,000 rpm. I also had 2 stator/rectifier issues. I relocated it to the side and added a heat shield behind the bracket. I use the cheap ebay rr/stator. Might go oem now I know the issue of over heating them. I also added a fan switch so at a long light I manually turn on the fan at around 210 degrees Fahrenheit.
@stoneautomotive2 жыл бұрын
Still running stock engine management/ fueling - has run perfectly for 7,000+ miles 😬 Tuning a highly strung engine like the units found in super bikes is always an expensive game, I enjoy it for what it is and have faster bikes in the stable if I need more pace 👌 Never gone over 7,000rpm 😱😱😱 they only start waking up after that rpm! You should really get it though the revs as that’s where the 600/750 come alive above 10,000rpm If you like low reving engines you may feel more at home on a V-twin, plenty of accessible power/torque from 3,000rpm 😎 Yea done the stator and reg too, it’s the only real weakness on this bike, solid motors especially for something that exceeds 16,000rpm

Suzuki could cash in on a new inline 4 600-700 cc motorbike in the UK/Europe market since most of the best bikes in this range have been discontinued/sports bikes. I was looking for a brand new ZX6R unfortunately my dreams have been crushed since the new regulations and the ninja 650 just doesn’t compare what so ever. The twin parallel doesn’t sound good at all and has basically half the power of the 636. Sad times

Hi, I don’t m find it uncomfortable at 6”2 and would think you would be okay at 6”3 providing your used to riding sports bikes in general. The RS250, Honda NC30 & Ducati 748SP have always been slightly on the small size for me but still usable without any real issues. If you plan to cover some miles and still want the comfort (even for a sports bike) I would advise trying the RC8R or Aprilia RSV-R (my old one was a 2002) both provide plenty of room 👍
