Suzuki GT750 crash in Wigan

He was not paying enough attention to what was happening ahead of him,the traffic sudenley stopped,he tried to swerve around the car but panic braked at the same time and locked the front wheel

Wet roads No abs 2 much front brake seen it a thousand times if you dont plan ahead and traffic stops suddenly thats what happens sadly ,but your safe so live and learn

Not helped by the last car being out too far to the right either - obscured the bikers view of the lead car stopping ., this is a modern menace nowadays sadly , one time car drivers hang to the left giving the bikes maximum room and maximum view ahead. Hope the kettle is not too scratched up , parts getting harder to find for the old stuff now , why the hell did you both go out on a shite day like that?

Keep your distance especially on wet roads, cars have four much larger points of contact than we do and if you're riding too close to a car that suddenly brakes you react and tug the lever, especially on those old solid discs, then this is the result. Glad you're OK. Nice bike though, a mate of mine had one back in the 70's but he rode it like a bat out of hell.

This is what happens when you ride too close , then brake too hard and fall off…. Sorry to say rider error. Hope the bike wasn’t too beat up…🫤

Sorry to see that, happened to me on a KH250 back in the day. Guy in front slams his breaks on because he thought I was too close, I slammed on and lost the front end !

Lucky the rider looked OK. Its a sickener to see that happen to a classic bike, hope he can get the bits to fix it. Must have been hauling on the brake lever, as the GT750 brakes are shocking, even with the twin rotors (well mine are). Bit in panic as he got closer to the car, rookie error

Panic braking 😱🙈 too much front and probably no rear at all 🤷‍♂️ I’m sure we’ve all done it 🙈 Granite master tyres won’t help either 😱💩

Coupled with..... overtaking through a zebra crossing and again on very clearly marked chevrons.... which are there for a reason.... If you calm down just a little bit you put in a bit more margin for error. No offence, but you did lock up because you were simply too close.... Nobody is perfect but you need to put in even a bit more margin for error on a 50 year old bike. I know this because I ride classics too 😉
