Mr. Wizard, this is such a lovely review that summarizes everything! It's crazy that I ran into your video and channel today, for our stories share so many similarities. I found my VL250 around March 2021, in mint condition just like yours except it's blue, red Ps on the tail, some first-time DIY bike maintenance, solo countryside riding in the hills, heck, even my first helmet is an Airoh too!

Thank you for watching dear Zhen-yuan! I am so thankful you have taken a liking to my channel and I hope your VL250 gives you as much joy as mine does. It is an honour to hear from you, thanks again.

Loved this video, I'm a big fan as you know - I've got two of 'em! :D Yours is super mint, you keep it in great condition, looks awesome! That under seat storage perfectly fits a bottle of Canadian Club or your whiskey of choice by the way, always a popular talking point when I used to pull a bottle out of the bike heheh! Such an honest bike with it's natural engine lope, carburetter and air-cooled design. I'm 5 foot 9 and it's a great long lean shape that doesn't cramp me at all. I ride my Spirit Shadow 750 cruiser mostly these days, but whenever I get on the Intruder, I'm reminded of the joy of riding - it is a supremely fun and capable bike. You've really done it justice with this video, hope it gets lots of views.

Thanks heaps Nic, back before I even got a bike I watched your entire channel at the time from go > whoa and it really inspired me. Glad you like the video, the lil suzuki is the bee's knees even if I give it a rough trot wanting something bigger!

@@AnxietyWizard That is amazing, cheers. Digging your videos, it's a real trip seeing your work on a bike I'm passionate about. We've got to get together for a ride before you "step" to a larger bike, I'd love to go riding together with the Shadow and the Intruder together. I'll never sell my Intruder, I adore the machine! Happy days mate!

Nice review and nice bike. Looks like it's in the Warracknabeal region... I find that mine, a 2011 model, has a natural cruise speed of around 80 kmh, so I've just fitted a larger 16-tooth front sprocket, which should help a bit. I've also removed the pillion pad as my long-legged 6'/182cm frame needs to sit right at the back of the seat. I've been riding for 63 years on bikes up to 1,800cc and, at 77, I appreciate the light weight of this fun little bike.
@AnxietyWizard
@AnxietyWizard Жыл бұрын
Have considered a larger front sprocket, but I actually sold this bike to my brother not long ago and now have a Honda VT750 Shadow which is lovely. These little Intruders sure are a brilliant bike, and I often miss mine.

Gday Mr. Wizard I’m getting my bike license in 29 days of writing this and looking at purchasing this bike. Is there anything I should look for when purchasing this model bike ? I’m not very well versed in bikes
@AnxietyWizard
@AnxietyWizard 4 ай бұрын
Congratulations on your future license! Be sure to look at the chain, tyres and general condition of paintwork etc. The better a bike has been looked after cosmetically, the more likely it has been serviced regularly. Chains need to be maintained frequently, so a rusted chain tells you a lot and is also dangerous. Best of luck, they're great bikes!

I still love riding my '08 VL250. Mine had the same huge hideous muffler, so i removed it and fitted matching black Turn-out drag pipes (bought from wish 😂) but it looks way better, its pretty loud and actually sounds like a v-twin. My daily is a FJ1200, but the VL250 is such fun in the city, chuck it into corners and drag the pegs....no worries. Great wee bike, and really reliable imho.

My only thought was about maintenance and parts availability. After 2 years you would be a good person to ask...
@AnxietyWizard
@AnxietyWizard 2 жыл бұрын
Maintenance is a breeze - these are simple engines and can be serviced just about anywhere. Chains, sprockets etc easily obtainable as are brake pads however specific parts that are OEM more difficult to locate in Australia due to it being a more euro-centric bike. I've just had to order from overseas if I need Intruder-specific OEM parts.

Been riding it for two years almost now and it's a great bike for the capacity, size and price point in my opinion. Only looking to upgrade as I'd like something with a bit more power. It's a nimble and light bike, easy maintenance and enjoyable to ride. I'm very very short and slight and can easily flatfoot this.
