I have a question for you about my 2001 intruder 1400 cylender 2 keeps popping and backfiring i have cleaned the carb synced the carbs replaced the plug and coil stator rectifier pickups coils and cant seem to figure it out
2 жыл бұрын
Is this while riding or when at idle? Popping and banging typically indicates a lean mixture if some sort.

Hey what air filters does it take
@svensvander3 ай бұрын
Just to make sure: for only changing the front air filter, I DO NOT really have to disconnect anything but simply get the cover off right? I got a 1995 Intruder 1400…….cheers and thanks

@@gardy8720 the header bolts on mine snapped aswell, it is very common on this bike. I'm no professional, I just do it as a hobby :)

Hi i was thinking about installing smaller air filter k&n's like what do you think?
Жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes it can be done BUT you will have to rejet the cards to accompany the new airflow. And unfortunately, there is no "1 size fits all" solution.

Hello Hagar, love what u are doing in these videos, very resourceful, please I have a little issue, 2 issues to be precised, I will say I'm confused, the first issue is the hydraulic valve tappets at the rear engine, I bought the bike with 22k miles on it, so each time I start the bike in the morning,I always hear this valve tapping from the back engine, and after running for about 5 minutes, it will disappear, I've been using it like that for about a year now, but now the it doesn't stop at all, it keeps tapping continuously even when the engine is warmed up, please is there any solution for it. The second issue, though I will not call it issue, is that I just installed Dual Vance and Hines 450 titans slip on mofulers on it, though it runs well but I get I little drop in power, I know I should have re- jet the carbs, please, what's sizes of jets should I install on the carbs and how do I set up the A/F mixture screw. Please I will love your kind advice's. Thanks

I would fail miserably at these videos. There's zero chance I could keep the original audio, and would absolutely have to do voice overs. Why, you ask? Because, as I do when I've worked on....my Intruder, my Honda Shadow, various aircraft (military and civilian), machinery at work (I'm senior maintenance tech in an optics lab), I am constantly asking, "Who's the crack smoking SOB that thought THIS was a good idea?!" You have way more patience than I can muster! And the 10mm wrenches/spanners? Oh yea, they are our equivalent in commonality to a 7/16, and are constantly missing. The equipment we have in our lab is all metric, and the 10mm (and 13mm) wrenches and sockets are worth their weight in gold.

I'm confused. You say that throttle cable splits into two cables for each carb I presume? But why is there a cable between the 2 carbs aswell to sync them? I always thought that there is only one throttle cable going to the first carb and another one between the 2 carbs to sync.
4 жыл бұрын
Apologies that I wasnt clearer on this, you are absolutely right it is to sync the carbs throttle. I've done a full carb video that I'll post as soon as it is edited.

@ It has a few small modifications done by the previous owner (white walls, mini ape, dragster type pipes, etc) but it looks pretty much stock. I'm curious to see where you are headed with yours.
