Damn! Those early eighties bikes were all so beautiful, Suzuki might have been the best looking of the bunch but it's really hard to choose because all four looked good. Great job dude that is a beautiful bike.

Good I’m so jealous! I had RM 100 for 2 years before that model, and had the massive update year after, but that bike was the ultimate, for me, I’m sure that was the D and had the E, but not sure as just stubbled in this, so excuse me if I’m wrong,,, but t that bike was much better and wished I’d stayed on it on my last year racing at 17, even tho I did so much better my last year !!! But that bike made me👍🏻 want 1 now thanks for sharing

This particular bike was being advertised for 1349.00 brand new in 1983. There were advertisements in the paper for this bike for many months and for some reason it stuck with me. I raced a 1983 YZ 125K so I knew this was a pretty anemic year for RMs.

Ah yes! I remember that price, too, and it's exactly how much my new '83 RM125 cost. My dad bought it and I had to get a part time job to pay him back. I was 15 at the time and I loved that bike. I rode it constantly for five or six years and it never quit. But by then it was pretty worn out. It wasn't as fast as my friend's YZ125 but it was still fast enough to have fun, and I'll always have great memories of it.

Trevor Jameson awesome story dude! The newspaper that had this particular ad was Newsday in LINY. Never forget it for some reason...I’m looking for a used 82RM 250 now ironically!
