Very nice video, that weld on the muffler has some porosity though, not a structural weld but can lead to cracks or subtle imperfections due to it not being a fully clean surface

Great video but a note about the fill level - per my manual (found online - hopefully applicable to my bike but seems to be generic to all savages/boulevard s40s), the procedure to check oil level is to start the bike from cold and let is run for "a few minutes". Then turn the engine off and wait 3 minutes and check the level to make sure it's within the marks on the sight glass. I followed this procedure after my oil change and used a little less than 2 quarts with changing the filter as well. When the bike is sitting cold, the level is above the top of the sight glass. It only falls within the marks after doing to procedure in the manual. I read on the forums that this is a common confusion. I'm not exactly sure what the right thing to do is, but the owners manual seems to be pretty specific about checking the oil level. Whoever did maintenance on my bike last removed/lost the inner small O-ring so luckily I had purchased another one and installed. Your video was great to help me locate the drain plug and familiarize myself with the procedure.

Thank you for watching, and thanks for the helpful info. I ride this bike to work most days and it is a blast.

You should remove the full cap first. They can sometimes get broken or seized in there. If it gets stuck with oil in the bike, at least you can ride it to the dealer, but if gets stuck and you've already drained the old oil out, you're stuck towing it. Follow me for more "lessons learned the hard way" advice lol. PS: I'll also drain faster with the oil fill can open. PS again: If you're going to go through the trouble of using oil to flush the motor, might also want to leave the drain plug open, as usually moving the oil filter around will send old oil from the filter back into the bottom of your oil tank.
