That is one of nicest looking SV650s I've seen. Fully faired with the black really suits it.

guys if we are honest, this bike is all the bike youll ever need. all above it is an extra. i am so glad to have this as my first bike. Dont know why you dont like the looks, I LOVE it, the naked frame looks like an exosceletton.

I brought an SV off Russ a couple of weeks ago after passing the tests using his school. The bike is great, I'm absolutely in love with it, and I would recommend anyone to use his school and do business with him. Cheers Russ.
This is by far the best SV650S I have ever seen, love what they have done to it too. Would not lower it myself though, these are low enough for most at stock hight.

I've literally just been for my first ride on my black 2005 SV650S. I got my licence a month ago (restricted) and so my SV is restricted, but I absolutely love it. It's good to hear your thoughts on the bike.

I've got the old curvy carburated SV650S and she's an absolute pleasure to ride. The difference between her and the FI model is massive. Like you say, the new ones are far smoother and calmer but I prefer the unpredictable nature of mine :P It's taught me to be very smooth with the throttle and the gears. Even with 33bhp, I can keep up with a lot of guys on my roads in South Devon.

@RoadcraftNottingham12 жыл бұрын
If you like that position and want to do motorway riding, you really need something with a fairing like a Fazer 600S, Bandit 600S or the Honda Hornet S. You'd love any of these.
@davidpardy9 жыл бұрын
I've had mine for nearly 6 months and love it! Only problem is I almost always use earplugs or in-ear monitors as I spend a lot of time on the freeway and the exhaust is too quiet to hear, so I have a Yoshi muffler on the way :). The only real issue I have (which is probably just due to lack of experience) is being a little nervous with tight corners or intersections at low speeds.
@RoadcraftNottingham12 жыл бұрын
Given a choice, I would choose a restricted 600 over a 250 any day of the week, no competition for me. I just see 250s as overgrown 125s. A 600 is 2 bikes, 1 when restricted and a new beast when the restrictor comes off with the advantage of you already knowing how the bike feels to ride. You'll have to research how each bike is restricted. Not to mention the money you'll lose buying and selling 2 bikes (250 then 600) and the extra weight and stability of the 600. Cheers.

RCN- yours is a VERY good looking version of the SV650! I've tried & tried to 'like' them, as they are great 2nd bikes: robust, light, powerful, dependable, comfortable, etc...But, until "Darth" I've never even seen 1 that I enjoyed looking at! Not sure what makes yours so handsome, but, a great commuter, weekend with friends, grab some take away, or, a gallon of milk bike. It's an '05, and, in perfect condition- which helps- but, it must have started as an S model, B4: lowering, CF exhaust, and other mods, which make it look absolutely fabulous. Congratulations on a really handsome- no, beautiful daily ride. I wish I knew what makes yours 'stand out' so much, compared to all of the others- but, it definitely does.

@badman2504 I hope you don't mind me asking, but how much are you paying for insurance and with what company? I'm 21 and have a 2005 SV 650S. I have two years of no claims on a car licence and I passed my bike test a few months ago. I can't seem to get a quote for below about £1500 (which is just below the value of my bike!) I simply can't afford it and it's stopping me from getting on the road. I just don't know how people are managing it.
@RoadcraftNottingham13 жыл бұрын
@zerothrough2hero It is illegal to have them on anytime on the road. They should only be for show. There's a new material out with little holes in that you can stick on your headlight that lets the correct amount of light through now. Can't remember what they're called now.

ive ridden for 6 hours straight on my sv gotta say numb behind ( seat is to hard for long rides ) and sore wrists ( especially at low speeds higher speeds its fine ) sore neck due to wind buffeting ( need a double bubble asap :D ) other then that they are just nice looking and nice riding bikes altho i think the front suspension is to soft ( most common mod on an sv is new springs on the front ) but for cruising i actually am glad that it is softer makes it more comfy

I'm in the process of doing my DAS and people have been recommending one of these for my first big bike. For my DAS I'm on a ER5 and it just feels smaller than mine. At the moment I'm riding a XL125 Varadero and I really like the seating position on it, nice and relaxed not leaned over like a sports style. I'd be happy to keep riding that if it could reach motorway speed without a hill and a tailwind. Do you have any recommendations for something suitable?

Hello guys I wanted to ask someone if they own a Suzuki SV650 and if it is a good bike for slow speed maneuvers like U turns, slaloms and figure of 8 riding because I am thinking of getting one and going to use it for my A2 test (With Restriction) and then A licence test I am asking this because in the UK part of the test is slow speed control and maneuvers like U turns, slaloms and figure of 8 riding on like a big parking lot.
@Reichiruu8 жыл бұрын
+KrystekkCF I own one, I would not use it when taking the test. kinda wrong bike for that, sure it manuvers pretty good at slow speeds.. Dont know how to explain this, but the handlebars have way to short movement. turns a bit wide for the licens test I would say, at least here in Sweden. there is a reason they use bikes like bmw fg800. they have good turn radius.
@steady2wheels7 жыл бұрын
Probaably late for u but others will see. The turning circle on the sv sucks and the weight is quite high. Combined with it being quite snatchy i wouldnt recommend for testing
@KrystekkCF7 жыл бұрын
steady2wheels thanks for the reply. I ended up learning the whole new licence law and i needed to do the licence on an instructors bike i could not use my own. I ended up getting a 2004 honda cbf600 fairing model with restriction to 47hp and i ride it on my A2 licence.

that 180kg is all at the top of the bike. The injected models are very snatchy. Owned 18 bikes, 3 of which were sv's great fun little bikes but lets be honest

Perhaps jerky is a better term for it. They are also most definitely top heavy. Just because they are raced doesn't make them perfect lol. They are fun bikes dont get me wrong.
