So far I've been happy with mine. Chuck that windscreen and find an aftermarket solution. I went with National Cycle Midsize, but honestly I think Fullsize would eliminate even more wind. And it looks good so I highly recommend. Did two hours of riding last evening with some light gravel offroad and it seems easy to handle. I"m 6'3" and it has decent ergos for my size. May get a more comfortable seat, but riding without any stops last night, i cannot complain. Cheers!

Sounds perfect for you. It’s the best bike I’ve ridden in a while.

Just brought a 1050DE and love it

I need to try that next. The 800 surprised me with how good it was. I felt Suzuki’s build quality and come on too Since my last Suzuki

@FabMotorbikes I tried loads of different bikes before going with the 1050DE, totally underestimated. Certainly makes short work of those pot holes

Firstly it's a privilege to see you and I hav been watching all your videos I need your help over choosing the between triumph tiger 850 and v-strom 800 de Since this both motorcycles appear to have similar spec on papers I need your help in deciding with respect to reliability , maintenance and resale value in the Indian market
@FabMotorbikes3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. In these respects I would go for the Suzuki. Japanese bikes are typically the most reliable and the easiest to maintain.

Honestly... the 800 is uglier than the 650 ever was. I would never buy it. Plus the V-Twin was a better engine.

Agree to disagree! 🙂 But thank you for watching.

You wouldn't have a clue mate,800 has better engine in every way than 650,better bike in every way than 650,I know because I traded 650 on 800 and would never go back

Hmmm...Learned on an SV650, but bought the Vstrom 800RE even though it was quite a bit dearer. The 800 is more refined, way less juddery than the 650 at low manoeuvers as well. The 800 is a torquey lovely bike.

I have a 2020 DL650 that I love. Smooth power delivery and plenty of torque. I added about 10% with an ECU tune and Arrow full system exhaust. Very noticeable. The Dyno shows 72hp. Torque gains also. The V-twin is very quiet on the road and I never get the numb hands from engine buzz. My friend has one too and we rode 430 km last weekend on the backroads of NE Thailand on pretty much a non-stop 7+ hour day and the only sore part of my body was my bum. The new DE looks great...I like it.

Sounds like you’ve gotten the best of the 650. Very popular bikes and I can understand why 👍

I know the new KLR650s, with the fuel injection, have ECU's, but I didn't know the DR650s had one. I thought they were a simple carb.

But the RE version windshield is a direct bolt on to the DE version, and is a much better windscreen, if the little one is an issue for you. The DE has a 21" front tire.

Agreed 21” front wheel, my bad

I have one, so my opinion is biased: I liked the look, i thought it was brave from them. But it also get better the more you look at it. It's great. Everyone stares at it. Kids LOVE it. Seen them smiling is so fun. Classic yellow and the new white are awesome. Some vibrations initially at 5000 rpm but it gets much better with time, suzuki ties the chain a lot. You will notice it at the first check, vibrations get better, you give it to the mechanic and they comes back. They disappear again, so no worries. Trust Suzuki. Mandatory, a new windshield and a new exhaust. I got an sc project but you can get any, everything is better than the stock. Factory tires are... They are not that bad on tarmac. They are useless off-road but on tarmac they are fine. They last 10000, front a little more. You will maybe need some handlebar risers. So confy. The seat is wow. It's a great motorbike, so much more than what i can handle.

Thanks for the additional info! Really helpful. I was surprised how good it was. Comfort and the midrange torque were the highlights for me

@@FabMotorbikes I agree. I did 1200km in 3 days last weekend. Pulls from low range with a passenger and 100kg of luggage easily. Travels to swiss mountains with no effort. It's more than enough for a 2 person bike and is nimble enough to be a single person bike.

any off road orientated tire is going to make the bike handle like dog crap on pavement compared to the oem equipment. have motoz dual venture front and adventure rear on my 2024 800de..... just killed the crisp street manners lol. something like tkc 80 is great on the street.... but no durability and marginal off hiway benifits.
