Suzuki VS 800 Intruder

Starting up my 800 Intruder after sitting for over a year.
It`s got 23000 miles on it, all original.
Northeast Ohio October it was around 60 degrees so not too cold but it hasn`t been touched since Sep 2018. Didn`t add any fuel stabilizer, just filled up with 87 gas which I was expecting to be a problem but it started nice and easy with a fully charged battery.

I left mine for around a year and it started easy to, apart from the pipes it also looks very similar.

FYI The VS800 does not have a choke, it has an enrichment circuit. If you open the throttle when starting, the enrichment circuit stops working. It happened here, the bike started to fire, he opened the throttle and it quit firing.

Buenas amigo yo tengo una moto Suzuki intruder 800 y el pistón trasero se escucha mucho menos fuerte q el delantero unos mecánicos comentan q es la válvula q hay q cambiarla otros q es falta de sincronización de los carburadores y el otro ajusto las válvulas diguio igual q opina usted

87 fuel do you intend RON? So my Mazda shall have problems in running in USA: its octanical request is 95, a very efficient engine that like everything is efficient doesn't like being mistreated. Anyway, I don't think that gas is cheap in the US only because is of a lower quality

We have 85 86 and 91 octane

It's not the engine that's at fault with starting here. It's the fuel. Add a fresh mix and see if it starts immediately.

87 fuel? In my country (Romania) exist only 95,98 and 100 fuel.... I want to buy one of these,and i don't know if 95,98 or 100 is a good fuel for that bike......

I’d at least close the fuel line, run the carb out of fuel of your not using stabilizer.

I thought when bike is sitting few months over the winter is not able to start in the spring without stabilizer and you saying this one was over a year? how is that possible?

I left the bike at my mom`s house, and I didn`t even think doing anything more than removing the battery (the tyres needed to be replaced anyway so left the bike on sidestand). Must have enough compression or fuel can`t be that bad at all that it started.
