King of Hearts is actually a psychological game. You can see that the players are stuck in a very tight never ending labyrinth and they are supposed to be followed by a beast. The game is supposed to make players give up since there’s no way out and even betray others by leaving them behind to their death to gain time and distance from the beast. Knowing how hearts games are, probably there isn’t even a wild animal to begin with.

13:30 friendly reminder, Chishiya betrayed Arisu and Usagi at the beach, setting them up to be killed and gang r*ed without guilt. Of course they don't just forgive him. In the manga both pretty much hate him, Usagi even wanted to beat him up until Chishiya took the bullet for her.

Sure, but the way they did it in the show felt underdeveloped. After the beach betrayal it seemed like most of them didnt really hold a grudge with each other and even worked with each other somewhat until they got separated again, so it feels out of the blue that they made the reunion between Arisu and Chishiya like it was some long awaited revenge battle stare. It really made no sense that they tried to play it out like a three way battle instead of Arisu and Chishiya vs Niragi lol. Probably needed more scenes to develop that "grudge" because it felt like it came out of nowhere personally.

Totally agree! The battle Royale shootout between them was one of my favorite scenes in the Manga, but the dialogue in the show didn't make sense with the changes they did at all. Arisu WAS egoistic, Chishiya WAS a jerk, so they really had developed during the shootout. Honestly I wish they had just cut that whole scene, since they made live action Chishiya and Arisu so nice anyway, Niragi just came out of nowhere and said random things. It's a shame.

@@Mukatutu nah the show's Chishiya was just too charismatic so he didn't feel like a bad guy lmao. I mean, from Chishiyas first appearance, he was indifferent and basically gave 0 fucks which was a total opposite of Arisu. The betrayal at the beach just did not work simply because Chishiya felt very likeable either through the writer or just the actor. Either way Chishiya's character was very well developed eitherway.

​@@SPCTR0 For me the betrayal in S1 did work, as it was in line with his character so far and the betrayal was just the moment where we went "oh damn, he's ruthless". I don't think him being likeable/charismatic changes that, the issue is, since that betrayal, there has been almost zero development specifically between Arisu and Chishiya apart from awkwardly meeting him in the s1 finale then being separated for the whole season basically. The whole idea of a three way battle or a "long awaited revenge match" between Arisu and Chishiya would've worked if we had them meet earlier and at least participated in a game together, where we get to see some tension between them and perhaps have Arisu disagree with some of Chishiya's methods, perhaps have Chishiya start sacrificing people so that Arisu could go "So you always do this, huh?!" I also disliked how Usagi was randomly missing throughout the beginning (can be brushed off as her scouting the area) and then conveniently appearing to announce herself loudly as a plot point to give Arisu a reason to fight. The plot armor (ehem king of spades) and writing issues got a little much for me in the later half of the season but it was an enjoyable watch.

Niragi refusing to shoot the guy who failed his attempt is a nice parallel to the King of Spades, who did what Niragi didn't. He thought he freed everyone from their misery and pain by killing them. It's interesting because he's supposed to be the mirror image of Aguni who unknowingly helped his best friend to attempt s*ide, too, but the parallel of "mercy through killing" also fits with Niragi well.

I wasn’t that worried of Chishiya since he’s a doctor and it’s more of a non-fatal shot, he can just apply pressure on it. But when Heiya got shot, i gasped, later Ann i was basically hurt and had to take a short pause, Kuina got me sick to my stomach (literally), Usagi made me lose it and Aguni made me pause since i can’t take it no more. This was such an all star cast that i only expected one fatality, not almost all. It’s even weirder Heiya survived that multiple close range, even Kuina at least should die from blood loss. Tatta died that easy while Heiya, Kuina, Aguni, Chishiya and Niragi tried surviving even after it’s pitch dark (i’m assuming more than six hours). I hope to see you both again in season three.

Heiya surviving was weird considering how many bullets she ate, but apparently there are countless people irl who survived multiple bullet wounds (upward to 30) and they did miss her heart. Niragi should have DEFINITELY died earlier in the season, so I agree for the most part.

I think all the face card boss has a background story and reason for all their games or actions. A series with limited screen time can't show everything from the original manga. I love your reactions though. The King spade fight was such an epic and emotional rollercoaster that I cried as well :)) I heard the actors doing all the stunt themselves. I respect the production team so much for all their hard work.

Well the manga ends with the next episode unless they buy the rigths and start to do their own story like they did with Sweet Home. Kind of, in sweet home they make their own story earlier because the manwha was not finsh but here it is and in my opinion they kill the story, so if they want a season 3 they better bring a good story

While I will absolutely watch a 3rd season if they decide to do one, the last two episodes were so bad IMO. The plot armor was soooooo damn thick. The alley fight meant nothing at the end. There is a sequence in the final episode that last 20+ minutes that could of conveyed in half the time. It drug massively IMO.

@@EliteHenz I like the show, however, Tatta dies from crushing his hand. Then they allow Niragi to survive having a shotgun punch a hole through his chest. Heiya survives 7 point blank rifle shots into her torso... I just found myself laughing at some of these moments. It was like Danny McBride's character in Pineapple Express surviving being shot, stabbed, and blown up in the rowhouse. Only there is was supposed to be comical lol.
