At its simplest level, the point is that "Naruto's world," if Kaguya had never come, would basically be a variation of "our world." Normal humans fighting and killing each other, developing technology and having wars, etc. (No chakra, no "magical shinobi," etc.) It actually makes a lot of "logical sense" (within the consistency of this quasi-fantasy world) that there has to be an explanation for why there is "magic" (Chakra abilities, whatever you want to call it). In this case, it's a "normal" world that had "magic" introduced to it by Kaguya (and the tree's) arrival. (Otherwise, the Naruto would just be a piece of semi-historical fiction of made-up lands and soldiers / assassins fighting each other without any special powers or abilities... and who the eff would want to watch that?!?

I much preferred when chakra was just the skillful combination of physical and spiritual energy, something achieved through training and available to everyone to some extent. Tailed beasts were like natural catastrophes - demon spirits from Japanese folklore. I guess I didn't need the alien celestials. Its kinda like what midichlorians did for Star Wars. Its ok sure, but unnecessary and it kinda changes the whole vibe of the story. Not to mention that the whole point of the first Neji fight in the chuunin exams was completely wasted - its all about the clans that are directly descended from this alien asshole

To answer your question. Kaguya did come from space, she is Alien but rather they are called "Celestial Beings" who travel across planets and dimensions. The Otsutsuki Clan history is further explored in its sequel series "Boruto: The Next generation"

While I will admit that Kishimoto could've definitely explained her story better, she is from the Otsotsuki clan, which in time, you'll understand more about them, but they don't reside on this planet. I actually kind of like the fact that Kishimoto placed this into the story, because he drew parallels between this world and that one. Like the Naruto world turned out the way it did with ninja and jutsu because she came from another planet and brought chakra with her, and eventually, through having children and giving it to others for different reasons, it got passed down through generations, but without that happening, the Naruto world could've very easily been the way that ours is now.

Again, I don't see that being the case. Madara was very worried about Rikudou Naruto & Sasuke, he even rushed the Infintie Filleryomi. Also, if Kaguya is technically a league above Madara in terms of raw power. How did Kishi come up with a way to defeat her? Since he wasn't afraid of the "muh asspull" people anymore. It's more likely he took a deal with the studio to make a bridge to continue the series. Hence why Sasuke is the final villain, as he originally intended.

The concept about kaguya is to bring an end to naruto's story but it's also to bring a beginning for boruto's story. Not at all. It already jumped shark when Madara was inflated with so much foreign power. I think Kaguya being the final boss was a huge refresher. Madara dying was also a huge reminder that people who used others also get used. Besides I still prefer Kaguya over Madara any day as she has insane power.
