@@carlbowen7965If he had used that whole attack on Nappa, I still think it would have hurt him. Krillin split the attack up to hit everyone, including Vegeta. It was enough to take out all the saibamen if it had hit properly, but it didn’t stand a chance against Nappa and Vegeta together with 1/4th or 1/5th of the attack.

@@yozarian86 Yea, especially because spoiler just in case suzy happens to read this thread: Vegeta had to stop nappa from taking the kienzan. I think Krillin could have put up a pretty good fight against Nappa if he absolutely had to but he's portrayed as hyper cowardly. For obvious reasons I mean look at these dudes, they're nuts powerful.

Dragon Ball was pretty lighthearted up until King Piccolo, introducing all of these characters you get attached to...then the Saiyans come around and these same characters start dropping left and right. Especially Chiaotzu, who dies again so it's for keeps

Just for reference Yamcha wasn't weak, he was just caught off guard by an enemy self destructing. He could have really beaten all the Saibamen at once but ultimately would have died against Nappa.

Flashbacks are usually used in cheap and melodramatic way that ruins the story. You're right that Dragon Ball handles it better by not using flashbacks much.

Yep, when they power up they increase the pressure around them, it's not that you don't want to stop them, you can't stop them. Not to mention they are not entirely defenseless while powering up as we've seen with Chiaotzu.
