A lot of people don't understand the premise of what Pattinson was doing as Batman. He was playing a Bruce wayne who hasn't yet learned the importance of being Bruce Wayne. He's angry and all in on the punishing criminals part but he's learning thats not enough. he's gotta be doing things at the other end if he's gonna get anywhere solving the problem. Give The Batman another chance knowing that its building to that playboy persona Bruce Wayne instead of blowing the load early. As for The Penguin its a great first episode and I cannot wait to see where it goes from here.

Exactly. I knew from the moment as Bruce went into the Batcave and told Alfred that he didn’t care about his Wayne persona at all and that he would have to overcome it soon. I saw the vision from Reeves. That’s the beauty of character development rather than give the people what they know which is boring all the time. By the third movie he should have an idea of that. That’s for every character- they are in they infancy as Matt said.

Exactly Also, it's not like he's incapable of playing the usual kind of Bruce Wayne the general audience is used to see, he has that charisma, in Tenet he shows off those skills incredibly well.

They are definitely in their infancy. Bruce came across as an entitled man baby. It wasn't that he didn't care about the other side of the coin or that he was all in on punishing criminals (weve had plenty of portrayals of batman like this in the comics) it was the "woe betide me" pitty party crap constantly that made me dislike that portrayal of Bruce. - Steejo

@@SuzySteejothat's the point. It's literally only his 2nd year as The Batman. And the Batman is who he is, Bruce Wayne is the mask he has to build. He hasn't learned to do that, but that's what he learned throughout the movie. He's learning to play the game. I think the broody, selfish thing makes so much sense. He's an entitled, privileged rich kid that got stunted emotionally with the murder of his parents. It would be weird if he was better adjusted.

That doesn’t make sense though. Bales Batman was also in year 2 in TDK. Which he loses in that movie and goes into retirement for 8 years. Bales detective work was also worse then Pattinson’s along with his combat

No matter what people say, 2022 THE BATMAN was absolutely banger for me. I related with this version of Bruce way more than the playboy funky type shown previously. This was Dark and gritty. And I loved it. "Batman from level 90 to level 1" - The thing you guys missed was that, batman showed in 2022 version is still not completely THE Batman, he was still in the making. It was Year 2. He is still learning the differences between becoming a symbol of terror and Vengeance to symbol of hope for Gotham. I loved every bit of it.

Many poeple have a problem with the way the Riddler looked. I thought it was genius to make him wear an outfit the real life Riddler (Zodiac killer) wore during one of his killings. Genius. Wish I thought of it myself.

Batman trilogy were better MOVIES overall than The Batman, but 2022 batman was a better batman than Bale. Bale was beat up in every movie, batflek and 2022 batman were more what Batman should be....feared, and intimidating, not getting beat up by everyone including the scarecrow. Batman does the beating.

Wouldn't say it's "better" than The Batman 2022. I'd say it adds more to what we had and more personality to the underworld of Gotham. But hey. To each their own I guess. Still a banger pilot, and I can tell the show's gonna be just as great in its own way. Definitely all in for Matt Reeves' Batman universe.

The wording of "Nowhere near as good" is why you're getting all this backlash 😅 Bruce Wayne barely even had any screentime in The Batman, he was almost always suited up as Batman, and then there was Penguin and Falcone and Selina Kyle and the first Riddler to actually be scary. Not to mention the award winning cinematography and musical score. So yeah, it's cool to say you don't like that version of Bruce, but "nowhere near" is putting a lot of disrespect on what some people call Matt Reeves' best film lmao

Understand your opinions but opinions differ. Matt reeves clearly showed us that this Batman is an inexperienced one, at only 28-30 years of age. He’s clearly young and vengeful and couldn’t get over his parents death. Think of it as Batman year 1 from the comics, brutal doesn’t give a fuck about anything else besides beating the crap out of criminals to mourn for the death of his family. He will evolve as the trilogy goes on

@0:56 not really, it depends on how the person pronounces their own name. Colin Powell pronounced his name as "colon". His is the only example of an American pronouncing it that way. We say "Colin Farrell" as "k-ah-lin".

That movie was terrible. Couldn't even see anything because everything was so dark. And the fighting looked really weird, like they had sped up the camera. Lmao.

Idk 😢 maybe coz the penguin has comedic traits and the batman was focus on batman so you know two different themes and motifs. That’s good though. Coz it’s a lived in world that both coexist

Maybe watch our reaction to it and find out? In short I found it hard to relate to a grown assed man who is a multi millionaire acting like the world owes him something because his parents died. The actual batman stuff I really enjoyed just disliked Bruce. - Steejo

I was enjoying the Penguin more than Batman. It was really boring. I have forgot the most of the movie. Also Batman is a bad detective in that movie.

Reacting to this masterpiece so early? Good for you guys. As fan of the "The Batman", this one hour premiere blew my mind last night, this is how a spin-off should've done. I can't wait for the show to explore more of Oz/ the Penguin's character and his past, along with other characters we familiar with, in the movie and "Long Halloween" storyline.

This show actually makes The Batman movie better. Now when I go back and see the movie, Batman/Bruce Wayne seems like a deranged individual obsessed with justice. Which could be a good thing? Instead of a hero with a sound enough mind we are actually dealing with a very deranged person who just happens to also have a heart. This show made things interesting.

I LOVE Colin Farrell, he is such a fantastic actor. Such a good choice of actor for the Penguin. He was also good in the detective series ‘Sugar’ on Apple TV. Loved that show!
