I will never forget the picture of a flicka anchored at palmyra island 1000 miles from honolulu. Picture was in earl hinze landfalls of paradise. That started my dream. I almost bought a dana 24. Back in 1988. Tbe flicka was impressive. But i wanted more. Ended up with a yankee 30 and i missed palmyra landfalling in fanning 150 miles south of palmyra . I have a tayana 37 since 2005 . Itss as small as i would go at my age 60.

Looks like a really good getaway. Seattle, San Juan 24 here. The Flicka is one of those epic little boats I think so many of us would love to own. Thanks for the eggs in a bottle tip, I'll use that for sure.

Great looking set up. Where did you start from? I must have missed that somewhere. I see you are using a Mantus anchor. How many pounds?

I started from Hernando Beach FL. I love my Mantus Anchor. It is greatly oversized for the boat, and as a result I had to install a bow Roller for it, but.....when I drop that baby, I do not budge....and that allows me to sleep well at night. I believe it is the 23lb mantus.

Hello- I have a 1985 Pacific Seacraft flicka 20 with a 1 gm 10 diesel. I’m wondering how the 3 hp e-propulsion outboard works for your flicka especially in the wind ? I’m interested in changing to electric propulsion my only concern being power. Nice video. Cheers- Erik

I replaced my 1gm 10 with the e-propulsion Navy 6.0. That will operate at max of 6000 watts. I never operate at that level, there is no need. 2,000 watts will push the boat 4 knts in most conditions. and frankly I normally run at 1000 watts in my channel, and will average 3-3.5 knts depending on wind and current. Bottom line, with the Navy 6.0 I can generate similar thrust to the 1GM10....I just cannot do as long. I also have 3 X E80 batteries for total of 240 AH to run motor. It has never been an issue on multi-day cruises....but....if I were to do a 30 day adventure, I probably would wish I had a 4th battery.....so that is why I carry a 2K portable generator and 2 gallons of gas as a backup.

Also an owner of an '85 Flicka with a 1gm10 and an ePropulsion Spirit as a dinghy motor and theoretically it should push the big boat about 3 knots with about an hour of range. I will come back to this when I test it.

I have a Cape Dory 30 with a 10KW motor and 300 AH 48 Volt battery bank. At 3.5 knots I can run about 15 miles with no current or head wind.

By any chance was the original name of your Flicka “Mel and Me” ?

Do not know the original name, but her name was Puffin III before I bought her, and the gentleman had owned her for about 7 years or so. The hull number is 281.

@@ehrichrose5740 I don’t Remember Mel’s hull number but enclosed head, high step over, aluminum cap rail, white plastic ports, and refrigerator white gel coat and 281 would be close. I had 264 I think

Hello, it is the first time to contact you. Trying to find an owners’ group on web and If any exists, please advice👈🏻, thank you. We own FLICKA20ft (manufacture #: PCS 2040 2C090) here in Japan. There is no dealer deals with FLICKA 20ft anymore in Japan so, looking for some info bellow: 1- The best set position of the anode for the propella. 2- About a gudgeon and a pintle of rudder (For an order for the future) →the cost? how long it takes? or any dealer exists to whom we need to place the order directly? 😊 Thank you. Maybe, a bit more prep work, may be advised. Otherwise, your going to find yourself, in a situation, of which your ill equipped... Just a casual observation.
