If I'm seeing correctly, 1 gallon of pre-mixed distilled water and water wetter is enough for the job? I'm doing a track day in May and want to bring some with me in case I don't pass tech with my current coolant. I'm not sure what's in my bike but the track organization says, "Only Advanced class riders must change from antifreeze to water. Engine Ice and Evans Coolant are NOT permitted!" I'm not sure if that means there are other coolants I need to use or if I'm ok with whatever coolant I have since I'm not in the advanced class switching out to water.

check with your org. but yeah it's actually more like half gallon per bike if you dont spill half of it all over the place.

Is there any way to check the coolant level, by checking the overflow reservoir for instance? When would you normally know when your coolant is bad or too low?
@Mad8vCycles Жыл бұрын
Open the radiator cap when it's cold. The overflow is... not necessarily indicative of anything. Checking if it's bad... if it doesnt look clean i suppose? It's cheap and easy enough to change that id change it if i dont know when it was done

Hey man. I have a question. I have a 2002 SV650 and I just change the oil and when I start the bike the oil level get down to empty and after a few minutes after I stop the bike the oil level go up again to the correct level. Do you know if this is normal o what?
@Mad8vCycles Жыл бұрын
The procedure for checking oil level is: Run the bike for a minute Turn off the bike and wait a minute. Make the bike vertical (not on the sidestand) and then look in the window. So youre describing exactly what it should be doing (as the bike runs, the oil goes up to the heads etc)

On a 2g it's held by just one bolt right above the rear motor mount which you hit with a 10mm from the outside of the bike.. It then pulls straight up. Airbox may be in the way tho
