From what I have read. The Russians decided to keep one person at their abandoned coal mine, rather than having to dismantle and cart everything away from the island.

Cost of tour plz
@ssabchris3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. The flight was around 400 Euros. I slept in Gjestehuset in a shared room which was 40 Euros per night, food and drunks aren't cheap but there's a supermarket where you find everything you need. Boattrips are expensive - day trip to see glaciers and wild life start from 180 euros.

How to settle in Svalbard?
@inverse2k1Ай бұрын
First you need a job, in advance. Or be considerably rich. You must be able to financially support yourself and your family for the length of your stay. There are no social services on Svalbard. Going there with the idea of living on welfare ensures your death withing a couple of days at best.

Great place to visit but you have to be a masochist to live there year round. Makes Alaska look desirable.

Hello. I am a black, and I am just wondering if there are black people living in svalbard? If they are, are they really accepted and welcomed? For I am interested in coming to svalbard
@user-nk5es9iy8i3 жыл бұрын
Norway is very welcoming to people of any ethnicity in general, and especially Svalbard which with it's small population has people of over 50 nationalities already.

You are first a human being, what ever your colour, a dreadful shame you should have to ask that😩

I can’t wait for the day that I can wake up, turn my head and say good morning to my neighbor's in svalbard. But the I need a room in local community,I'll be there on the 20th could you be of help?

Amazing but no masks or social distancing?
@cheyannegraham76633 жыл бұрын
Nope. As far as I know longyearbyen hasn’t had one single case. They are still 100% covid free. Everyone who travels there has to present a negative test before they can fly over. And as of June if you are vaccinated you don’t have to present a negative test anymore.
