SVBony is the savior of astro-photographers in budget. Cant wait for them to release these products especially the duoband filter.
@AstroOnBudget2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! They have recently released the duoband filter. Although, I haven't seen it.

Great video and I am particularly looking forward to the new filter. The focal length and ratio of the Mak is less than a normal Mak which is usually around f13/15

I wonder about the sensors in these incoming cameras, can you shed any details? A 105mm Maksutov scope is nice as an introduction. My first scope was a Skymax 127 (127mm and f/12, quite nice), and I really love my Skymax 180 (at f/15 and 2700mm+ focal distance is a "planet killer" and easier to use than a large SCT)

Hey Nick, haven't heard from you for some time. Hope skies are clear at your end. I think svbony website now has info on the sensors.

@@AstroOnBudget good day. Now it's cloud season in Athens, so I'm not getting out much at nights. I was sorely tempted to buy the IMX533 camera during Black Friday, but I am still holding out for reviews and maybe a mono sensor (I know, it means also filters etc)
@unrealspetznaz Жыл бұрын
@@AstroOnBudget I wast told by svbony themselves it will be a sv405cc mono version. I wish it was the IMX533 mono instead.

The new telescope might be interesting, especially with a reducer it will be great for dso astrophotography

Absolutely. What kind of rig have you got?
@michakubisz5352 жыл бұрын
@AstroOnBudget My current setup is: Samyang 135mm f/2 + qhy533m + iOptron Sky Guider Pro. I started with a stock Nikon D5000 and switching to mono was a great leap.

@@michakubisz535 Excellent! Samyang 135 f2 is on my wishlist. How does it behave wide open? Does it live up to its reputation? How does mono work on this?
@michakubisz5352 жыл бұрын
@@AstroOnBudget Well, overall I think it's a great lens and not just for astrophotography :) It's good at focusing, very bright and many deep sky objects fit just perfectly. It also has a few minor issues, such as reverse vignetting (brighter corners), which can thankfully be neutralised with flats, and quite spiky stars if you use the built-in aperture (but I like it though). I usually use it @ f/2.8 for OSC (to get optimum focus) and @ f/4 for mono (because of the narrowband filters). PS. I bought used one for half the price, it's the best option to try it out.

Yayy! Something for lazy people like me who do EAA because they can't be bothered to learn photo editing software and lean upon Sharpcap to do everything for them :D Thanks for the update mate! And sorry for the clouds I recently got a Williams optics Z73 apo so...... ;)
@AstroOnBudget2 жыл бұрын
Haha so it was your fault. Why you keep buying stuff 😭 How do you find EAA?
@ziggyfrnds2 жыл бұрын
@@AstroOnBudget it's a great experience, right now I have only 1 camera its a dedicated OSC and I do everything on Sharpcap from polar alignment to focusing and capture plus stacking. Then a little gimp thanks to your tutorial :)

@@AstroOnBudget I own several of their products now inc there scopes but after the bad CS I've stopped buying their stuff. There simply is no excuse for bad CS nowadays. I would rather pay more for Good CS than take a risk on issues. But fully understand others down below.

@@michaelwood5044 yeah fair enough. I think CS is the weak point of many companies based in China.
@michaelwood50442 жыл бұрын
@@AstroOnBudget I agree how ever there are also many that have stepped up their game to make them selfs stand out. But I also think even in our own countries, CS in some OEMs has left a lot to be desired with the odd one standing out. Over the years china has seemingly been getting better overall but still, the old "old school" behavior is still around if you look for the cheapest of the cheap.
