Plastic Sun is Svein Finnerud's trio's second album, but definitely the most iconic (the original vinyl is super rare!), Pianist Svein Finnerud, bassist Bjørnar Andresen and drummer Espen Rud are in fact perhaps the most legendary Norwegian jazz trio ever.
The album was recorded and released in 1970 and at that time Finnerud Trio was an important part of the Norwegian avant-garde jazz scene. They were not internationally known, but the ideas they represented would later set the tone also in European jazz with artists such as Garbarek, Rypdal and the "ECM sound".
