It does takes an awful lot of time, but that's due to the fact that they're not just modding, they're also upgrading AI, remodelling, reskinning, re-doing everything you may think of, and on top of that, as far as I've understood, are pretty undermanned. I donated some cash to SVC-team around 2003 and still haven't complained for not recieving extras. Hell, I'd donate again if it has to be done.

i did u ned a file called Auto_Soundlist.txt in your sound folder. it will download the thing over and over when u join a server which allows u to play

Plus it's a LOT easier to mod for HL1 than HL2, so more people get interested in SvenCoop modding.

My understanding is that they are working on a HL2 version in parallel, but that it is (naturally) taking much much longer than development for HL1.

@ShadicoTheHedgehog Really, the only thing that bugs me in 4.07 is the crashing (and fisting happy alien gruns :) ). I hope next patch will fix most of these issues..

People say nobody plays Half-Life 1 anymore, tell me, what Half-Life 2 game besides Team Fortress 2 does anyone even play? Sven Coop is a very popular and still active mod. Personally I prefer HL1's older graphic style and ease of compatibility. Also, the mod already has tons of content so this is just even more. It's not like we're playing an unfinished game.

sure there are; ant lions the bigger ant lions vorgs those modified humans(the one on stilts) crabs strider's those flying gun ships. and i remember seeing a bunch on other aliens(not in action but that one part in hl2 when Gordan is in the elevator thing, going up to dr.kliners office) you could use the "combine" as the solders

Although I don't quite agree with the graphics part, What barry is saying is true. They seem to have forgotten about the main goal... A Source version of Sven Co-op, The hl1 version of Sven is fine, we want you to start on Source, not continuing with too little too late :(. Oh and by the way theres a mod for hl2 called synergy which is kind of like sven co-op, but it's just no the same...

and your point is..... Oh wait, there isn't a point. Sven Co-op will only fail when like 10 people play the mod. I think when this is released it could get more pulicity, and thus add more fanbase. Plus, HL1 is on steam now, so the potential for more players is there.

Of course. Isn;t that what most modding is about? its for the love of modding, not to get money. If that was the case, all mods would be pay for mods. Although, I don't think that would be allowed unless they license the engine the mod is run on.
