After this review, I went ahead and bought one and tried it for two weeks now. I have both a small dog and a cat around 13 - 16 lbs, that both drink lots of water. That said, it was a pain to always fill up their water dish after a few days and just hear the pump running dry with no warnings. After two weeks of full use, I can honestly say that I am thoroughly impressed. I would say, that I wish it had sound when it was low on water, but the flashing lights DID actually capture my attention when I was in the kitchen. LOVE the flush feature!

In the last few days I have binge watched your videos, especially the reviews on litter and water fountains, they are so informative, thank you for that! I’m a new cat mama and felt overwhelmed on the choices and needed some solutions to my current set up. Your videos helped tremendously! I appreciate paying close attention to the main categories for each type of product and give your pros/cons. I’m trying to decide between the Nugget and Eversweet 3, do you like one over the other and why? Thanks again for your insight!!

I bought one. It’s very quiet but started backing up after 3 weeks. The water was coming out of the fountain and ending up all over my floor. Also it gets very gross and dirty inside. I wanted to love it but

Omg I’m so glad to hear!! I try to get into the details because if I was researching a product I would want to know as much of the good and bad as possible. My favorite are the stainless steel ones from PetKit and PetLibro. All of the ones I have tested work well except for the mini catit one. That one died fairly quick.

Mine is constantly flashing the N and S lights and doesn't do anything no matter what I do.... I Cleaned it, reassembled it all, plugged and unplugged, tapped, double tapped, held the button and nothing. Am I missing something? I think I got a faulty fountain.

Would you be able to tell us how loud/quiet this fountain was? Also, I know you’re honest about your products so out of all the fountains you have tried is this your favorite or would you recommend a different one for a single cat household?

This was super quiet like most fountain. The only time I noticed noise was when the flow starts up. I don’t have a particular recommendation for single cat households. This fountain is my top three along with the Eversweet 3 and the pet libro all stainless steel one. You probably won’t need to change the filter as often with the Eversweet 3. Hope this helps!

Every water fountain I have tried, the water gets pink after one or two days. Wondering if this one prevents that? Not sure what the pink is.

Never heard of this happening but I looked online and apparently it is a thing. Here's what I found: Serratia marcescens can cause illness in cats with compromised immune systems. This could be from soap, cat saliva, or food getting into the cat water bowl. Plastic traps bacteria, even with regular washing. A safer water fountain is made with stainless steel or ceramic. Ditch plastic. Plastic traps bacteria. Even with regular washing. Buy stainless steel or lead-free glass or ceramic water bowls and food plates instead. Pink stains are most frequently observed in sinks, toilet bowls, shower stalls and bathtub enclosures and on showerheads, shower curtains, tile and in pet water bowls. They are caused by Serratia marcescens, an airborne bacterium. Believe it or not, the Attack of the Pink Slime is actually quite common, and is caused by a combination of airborne bacteria (called Serratia marcescens), mold, and yeast spores that thrive in damp environments. There’s no need to panic, though-it’s not hard to control. And while it’s been found in some cases to cause illness, that’s usually not the case unless you have a compromised immune system. Clean Your Pets’ Dishes Regularly Technically called a biofilm, this slime can be more widespread in the presence of fatty substances - things like soap residue in the kitchen sink and food debris in pet water dishes. That’s why it’s important to clean your fixtures and your pet’s food and water dishes regularly. If you’re using a filtering system (such as a Brita Water Pitcher) that removes chlorine from your water, the pink slime has an easier time getting established. Chlorine also naturally disperses from your tap water when the water is exposed to the air for a period of time, which is why the pink slime is more likely to appear in toilets and pet food bowls. We’ve found the best way to control the slime is through frequent scrubbing with a mild bleach solution, although it can also be removed with a vinegar-and-water solution. To get around sink fixtures, use an old toothbrush. It Likes Limescale Pink slime grows very well on surfaces such as limescale (white flaky stuff that sometimes appears around water fixtures), so be sure to eliminate that as well.

@@rainbow_warrioress Thank you! This happened to a few ceramic water fountains I tried. I just gave up and then recently purchased the Catit Smart Water Fountain which comes with a UVC disinfecting light. I've been using this for a few months and no pink slime! However, I've read reviews that the uvc light stops working and that's actually what happened with mine after 4 months. Catit replaced my fountain at no cost, but if the uvc light keeps breaking, then eventually I'll be out of warranty and need to purchase again. A real bummer. I hope more pet companies invent uvc water fountains that actually last.

It's plastic. But it's a nice textured plastic on the outside and nice smooth plastic on the inside for cleaning.
