Excellent lesson Sven. I was paying attention and understood all your chord voicings. The 6+9 chord is such a distinctive sound and used a lot in bossa nova too. I think the key to playing rhythm in gypsy jazz is to get those strumming patterns right. To me, it's more difficult than playing the chords.

i love it when you are trying to find the sheet music for videos like these, but they ask for money lol. like you created the song.
@davidstellner24 күн бұрын
he created the sheet music. If it were that easy, you could just do it yourself, couldn't you? It's not like he is asking you to pay for watching this video, which already gives you a lot for free. Musicians gotta make a living. And selling sheet music was always one of the ways. There is absolutely nothing wrong with providing lessons for free to a certain extend and then asking for a little money for further work sheets.

There is a lot of movement here.The right rhythm sound.A study in itself, apart from Djangos solo. Bravo!
@Ludwig_Cox9 ай бұрын
At 04:00 it's strange because in the recording I think you can hear a movement from Bb to C but maybe I'm wrong. I play the Bb-6 chord without the pinky (so with a Bb) and then I play the Bb-6. Great rhythm lesson as usual 👍

Maybe, it’s the way I always played it, didn’t check back for ages, I mean everyone has a little own note in every transcription, right?😅

great lesson, Sven!👍 - i'd love to ask for your opinion if the chords used in the intro are chordtypes you would typically also use when comping as a soloist ? I'd love to see also a lesson of yours on comping if you like the idea ;) Thanks for your effort !!!

Could you play this music on a regular acoustic guitar if you have one to see the sound difference? Quite interesting it might be

thanks buddy, I think i was overthinking the intro!

Wow, I've always heard Bbm as the 2rd to last chord of the intro rather than the diminished.

Hi John, you might be even right! It’s just about the d string! If it’s muted it’s m6 instead of dim! It’s just how I and my buddies always played it 😀🎵🎶👍

The f chord at 10 mins i find impossible ; fretting the E and A Strings at the 8th fret together; and not getting in the way of index finger on 7th fret is really painful. Oh , just mute E string instead and play a smaller chord ; does 'nt sound quite as good , but, OK. Thanks
