Today is June 6th, so HAPPY NATIONAL DAY to Sweden, my home country! The song is called Sverige (meaning Sweden) and this was actually a session that I didn't plan (you can see I'm not wearing make up haha) , but I just felt like singing this today and taking a break from everything :) It's a little bit out of my comfort zone, so be nice to me ❣😉
This song originally performed by the band Kent, but it has also been covered lately by Molly Sandén and Victor Leksell. I did a slightly shorther version and I probably messed up the lyrics at some point, but who cares 😉 It's one of the songs that for me truly symbolizes what Sweden is and capture the essence of swedish summer. I think it's one of the most beautiful songs ever, and it really touched me strongly today when it's the national day, and I can't go back to Sweden due to the pandemic. Until we meet again ❤
The song's message saying that you're welcome no matter who you are is a message that couldn't be more important to keep in mind, especially now.
Hope you like it! ❣ I translated it so that you who don't speak swedish can understand the meaning aswell.
Lyrics, translated
Sweden, Sweden my dear friend
You’re a tiger who’s ashamed
I Know how you feel
When what’s serious have become a joke
What has happened to us
You’re welcome, welcome here
Whoever you are, wherever you are
The rain is beating against our windows now
But the night is still light, in a land without houses
Glasses are quietly sparkling on our tables
They’re as empty as words
Isn’t our love great
You’re welcome, welcome here
Whoever you are, wherever you are
Cred to Piano Fred here on YT for the piano
xx
Mikaela ❣
