SVG Digital File + Laser Engraving Machine: Full Walkthrough

If you don't own a digital laser engraving machine, it can be mysterious as to why you are selling digital files. Who uses the digital files? What can you make with an SVG file? In this video, I use a digital SVG file from Creative Fabrica and use my XTOOL D1 PRO laser engraving machine to make some cool wood art.

The png with transparent background shows as black because the computer program you're using doesn't know what a transparent background is and doesn't know what colour to assign to it. This mostly happens with Windows and its default photo app. However, if you click "open with" and choose another program such as Gimp or Paint then it will open correctly.

When engraving on wood, does it make a difference if you engrave WITH the grain or ACROSS the grain? I just am wondering if the resulting image is affected either way or not at all. My thought is across the grain is better.

That's a great question and to be honest I have never noticed a difference. The wood that I have used is smooth enough that I have never noticed a difference.

Just make a circle the size of your material, then click the frame button.
