The intersection of a plane and a paraboloid of revolution is generally an ellipse. But when you project it back to the (x,y) plane (the bottom plane) it becomes a circle.

could someone tell me why it is easier to get a 2d separator in a higher dimension , than to get the elliptical / circular separator in the lower / orginal dimension
