When I compared with my previous dual Jamo D7 THX ultra subwoofers, I felt the same. The Klipsch 115SWs were powerful but a bit boomy and had less control on deep bass. Thanks for the video.

I love that your not afraid to make mistakes, it would have been easy to edit out the subwoofer/ submarine part yet you chose to leave it in and show your human side, and even though we all knew what you meant we all felt your passion. Thank you for the quick follow up! Dropped a like on the video. I like that you noted the frequency drop off but that your preference was for how much cleaner/tighter the SVS bass was. While I have not heard the SVS PB3000, I have heard the smaller PC2000 and I have always loved how SVS subwoofers perform with authority. My current setup has a single Klipsch R-115SW and I agree the lower frequencies can sometimes seem a little "messy" but ever since i heard them, i cant go back :) Id probably have to go with PB-16Ultra is i was ever going to replace it but i am happy with my all matching Klipsch for now.

Clearly, you liked the PB-3000 more than these Klipsches, but what about the PB-2000 vs these Klipsches? Thoughts? Seems everyone loves SVS and the prices have gone up since you posted this video it seems. God bless and thanks for your time.

Youthman...this review is absolutely awesome. Great real world info and your enthusiasm and passion for the hobby always shines through. I value your opinion on HT equipment and I was subjectively sorta hoping the dual Klipsch would perform as well as the single PB3000 because that would make it financially easier to swing the Klipsh's and also keep the wife calmer. "The Klipsh's are cuter, and smaller too..." she says...🙄 On the other hand, 2 PB3000's should be the end all "last subwoofer purchase" I SHOULD need...on paper. Of course, the quandry in this hobby is the constact journey for bigger, better, louder etc. Home Theateritis is a terrible desease...but I'll be alright, as long as I designate it as my doghouse...! 🤔

Not really. The pb16 is cleaner than the klipsch, and it's also cleaner. He also tested dual pb3000 VS dual monolith thx 15. And monolith were as tight or even slightly more tight as the pb3000, having bigger driver. Tightness is a cuestión of driver quality (not size) and amp power and quality.

I doubt it is a good and fair comparison. When one talks about “clean” subwoofer sound, one should cut off all frequencies below 20Hz. Vibrations below 20 Hz will effect the “clean” tones. I have set a low frequency cut off on my Anthem ARC and the R115 became much cleaner and more punchy. I think in your room with 2 Klipsch subs the effect will even be more pronounced. From your frequency curves from last vid, one could easily predict, that the SVS PB will sound cleaner as it rolls off at 20Hz
@Youthman
@Youthman 5 жыл бұрын
The reality is most will not be editing the rolloff of their subs but I agree, it would likely clean up those low frequencies
@santiagoezquerrocordon1470
@santiagoezquerrocordon1470 Жыл бұрын
Low frecuencied are more difficult to handle, so when you remove them, the rest of frecuencied get more in control (tighter). It's a cuestión of driver quality and amp power and quality. Monolith thx 15 is as tight and clean as the pb3000 and it's also a sub which can hit really hard 10hz in room. Maybe the problem here is that klipsch didn't use the quality components the subwoofer needed to play frecuencied under 20Hz, so the trik you are doing it should have done by klipsch.

Room is approximately 22' wide 13' deep as in away from TV. Roof is angled, 14' one side like 10 on the other. No rear wall behind viewing room as it sets 30" lower than main dinning room and kitchen. Think 1970s grottos. Your thoughts.? My subs haven't arrived yet. However I believe this should be amazing.

not enough videos here on KZbin dive into the buyer's remorse or the "what if" factor. I started with a single SVS PB-1000. I was absolutely blown away by the output of that sub when I first heard it. So entirely blown away, that suddenly my budget nearly tripled and I bought dual SVS PB-2000's. Then I heard about JTR Subwoofers. Went from Dual SVS PB-2000's to Dual JTR Captivator 2400ULF's. Any normal human being should be completely satisfied with the 2400's in a room that measures 12x19x8. If I could go back to the beginning and help myself make a proper decision, I would absolutely choose the biggest single subwoofer/enclosure I could afford rather than smaller dual subwoofers even from the same brand. Get your Endgame subwoofer first, work on multiplying it later. You'll save so much money in the long run (several years after you read this)

My living room where my home theater is measures 20x18. I have a pair of Klipsch r-820f, Klipsch rp-450c, Klipsch r-41m, and Klipsch r-41sa. My subwoofer is a Polk Audio PSW505. I need to upgrade my sub and have been doing some research and ran into your video. Just what I was looking...so my question is, do I go with dual SVS pb-2000 or single SVS pb-3000. Right now dual pb-2000 go for $1200 while the pb-3000 is still at $1400. Thank you in advance.

I use Two klipsch R-110 SW for HT setup and for music listening , they are tight and clean. In my opinion the klipsch are great value for the money, SVS subs have unnatural bass character to it..... I found that the klipsch R-110sw is better than it’s bigger siblings...... Watching your channel from Canada 👍👍👍👍

I am having a similar internal debate. Do I get 2 SVS PC 2000s(i like the form factor of the cylinder and more appropriate setting for my living room), or do I get one SVS PC 4000, and wait until funds( ie. tax return:-) ) will allow for a second sub.

Hate to be nitpicky but you used REW to find best spot for sub. What is the frequency response like on your personal subs behind the screen? Don't recall if you have posted that in the past. Thanks and keep up the good vids.
@Youthman
@Youthman 5 жыл бұрын
Not nit picky at all. I too am curious what they look like behind the screen. I don’t think I was learning to use REW when I added them. I did what most people do and that is add them where is best aesthetically. But I may find they don’t measure that well. The good thing is they still sound fantastic back there but I am curious. If there are issues, it will give me an opportunity to play with phase, time alignment, PEQ within the PB16’s and the miniDSP 2x4HD that I have in for review.

I’m still waiting for Klipsch to send me one, but we just finished up a MWAVe 2023. We purchased the 1600 for the show to use in our blind Subwoofer comparison. Out of seven subwoofers, the people chose the 1600 in the top three, even favored over the PB16. I think it has some serious potential.

PS On amazon(Canada) i find SVS PB (ported) and SB(sealed) Since i have zero knowledge on subs i ask you if you prefer sealed or ported,and why? The one your chuffed about here is ported,so i assume that is the one to have?
@Youthman
@Youthman 4 жыл бұрын
Ported subs typically have more output. Sealed subs tend to dig deeper. I sold my PB16’s and upgraded to (4) sealed 18’s and now I have the best of both worlds. Flat down to 10Hz and PLENTY of output.

@@Youthman That's my struggle. Im interested in swapping out my B&W CM9 S2 and ASW CM10 S2 fronts and sub with Klipsch RP-8000f and SVS Sub since as far as I can tell, especially from both yours and the Audiophiliac's reviews of Klipsch that it would fit my musical tastes of classic and modern hard rock better, as well as have great home theater application. Correct me if I'm wrong, the pv3000 is inside a sealed box. So in actuality your comparing a sealed sub to a ported subwoofer. The ported box is going to give you more bass and not roll off as much. The seal box the bass is always tighter n punchier so its about preference. Do u want deep heart taking bass or some bass with somewhat of a sound quality subwoofer. Give me the ported sound for my bass
