I can’t stop watching this. I’d love to read a story like this where the guy you grew up utterly hating and always fighting with one days changes out of nowhere and you suddenly have to come to grasp with actual feeling for him and being so confused. I think the thing I like most about this is that, during the repeated "because I can"s, it feels like what's happening on the screen is like, things Liu Qingge is allowing himself to do. Like, things he never thought he'd be allowed to do, or like, things he just flat out didn't expect to ever be a possibility, so now he's taking joy in really simple things, like spending time with this man he loves. It's really sweet.

Liushen is something I saw platonically but THIS Literally blew my weave further than the planet NASA last discovered, it's.so.cute And the way the frames get larger as their relationship grows, smooth animations and transitions, single-handedly made me adore Liushen I feel it's ironic that the song is literally about punching a wall, and LQG does just that lmao

This was so good???? The first time the kiddos attacked LQG, his reactions were so smooth and effortless and the animation was incredible and then it was hilarious the second time when they were so surprised they landed any hit at all. The genuine fear on SQQ’s face when he’s face with LQG in his qi deviation, LQG using a sword to do his eyeliner, the number of gifts LQG showered upon SQQ, just so many things about this animatic were incredible. I really hope you might make another so I can enjoy that one as well!!!

This is SO CUTE, your LQG especially is just stupidly adorable and squishably grumpy, oh my goodness. One of my favourite ships set to one of my favourite songs! I can't even pick a favourite part, but I *love* the qi deviation scene and how you worked in the shift between LQG's feelings toward each iteration of "Shen Qingqiu," and how strange it is for him to look back on his time with the original later on. But also just...everything? LQG's awkward body language, SQQ's huge grins, the way LQG throws himself into SQQ's waiting arms after the wedding and the soft way they're breathing together as the sun comes up. There is so much joy in every moment of this I might cry.

I don't even know where to start; the use of the frame and how it grows bigger as their relationship progresses, the contrast between the eyes of Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu, the smoothness in the swinging of weapons, the naturalness in each movement, even slight changes of expression. I know this is old but I keep coming back to it. I love LiuShen to bits, they have so much good chemistry and I adore their story. This animatic is so gorgeous too, so amazingly made. I haven't been able to stop thinking about this ever since i first saw it a few days ago. I've made all my friends watch it while I grab tissues cuz it just... makes me love love *so much*! This is my current favorite relationship dynamic! Like, the way I can see so clearly how much love has changed him... 🥺 Your artwork is gorgeous. My favorite part is when they hop on the sword and the screen expands, like suddenly the world feels much fuller. He's not in that shrunken down little box anymore. Not everything is out to get him. The montage at the end brings me to tears. I'm actually blind to this fandom but this makes me want to get into it. I have watched this video so many times now, and forced all my friends to watch it, even tho none of them have read the book or seen the show lol This video is just so good! The storytelling in it is amazing, the way you incorporate the size of the image and the way the borders change as a frame for the narrative is such a clever visual metaphor for the story happening. The part where LQG is going into qi deviation, and the square is closing in on SQQ, and he forces it open again, that fucking got me! And god, the scenes where LQG is flashing back and forth between his childhood and now, those are so good! The sequence of LQG holding his hand above his head, with the shadow of it as he remembers his violent tendencies, then it gets replaced by SQQ's shadow as a symbol of how he doesn't have to be trapped in that past! And then him flying off with SQQ and erasing the tight border entirely! God, the way SQQ just holds out his arms with a smile and LQG reciprocates in the scene after their wedding! Ok, there were more scenes that really made me so happy, and ones that made me sit back and awe at your technical and storytelling mastery, and I could quote the entire thing to you, but I won't take up too much more time lol I really really love this animatic, and I keep rewatching it cuz I can't stop thinking about it. thank you so much!! yee i wasn't sure if i should call it animation or animatic but i went with animatic because i think that's the word fandom is most familiar with for these kind of things? i used adobe animate, it's a great software but it's kinda expensive.. i have access to adobe softwares for free thanks to my irl job but i wouldn't necessarily recommend the investment, there're plenty of decent softwares out there that are cheap or free. the feature you need to look for to make smooth animation easier is the onion skin feature, it allows you too see several frames at the same time. (a frame is a single picture, if something is animated with 12 frames per second for example it means 12 pics per second) so onion skin makes it easier to make decisions about the pic you're currently drawing because you can see the frames that came before and the ones that come after, and how it fits in the overall movement. i hope that helps!
