I was diagnosed with a fib and a flutter last May. In November I was also diagnosed with SVT and PVC. The medications they had me on didn’t work and I actually went into acute heart failure back in January. Luckily I have almost completely recovered from that, and I am scheduled to have an ablation done in June to hopefully control everything and allow me to get off some of the meds I’m taking. Thanks for sharing your story!

Your story was very helpful! Was interesting that your first EP was not a good one! I have only had 1; he is arrogant and isn’t forthcoming with info! Had a failed ablation - said I went into Afib and he had to back out????? I guess the second was a success even though he told my daughter my heart did all kinds of “ crazy things!” I was still asleep, having general anesthesia! The first time I had light sedation and it was not fun! I hurt in my chest - like a heart attack - that was when he pulled out! The FU I had with his NP wasn’t any better! Same arrogance and I could not get any helpful info from her! In her notes she listed my problem as Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation? I am so confused but I think you said you had both Afib and SVT! I am seeing my Cardiologist tomorrow - I’m hoping he can help even though he is not an EP! I originally went to ER twice and was diagnosed with Afib! I am totally confused at this point! It seems I am doing ok but I am not getting the information I need! Very frustrating! I hope you will post again!

I just found your channel and I so appreciate your honest talk about SVT. I have been diagnosed at age 58 and I am very scared. I am going to see an Electrophysiologist in February. I feel depressed and anxious. It happens anytime, anywhere, but luckily it doesn't last long. Please share your ablation story, and any helpful tips to help me mentally. It's exhausting and debilitating. Thank you so much .

I had my SVT ablation a couple years ago. Through recovery I had a couple rough patches where I felt I didn't work but I guess it could take close to a year to fully heal, which seemed to be true. Around month 8 I felt far less episodes until they've finally disappeared around month 10 - 12. I still get ectopics like crazy though!! The SVT ablation seemed to also fix my a-fib episodes as well. Keep up the good fight, brotha!

Good to hear the new EP took you seriously. I’ve been dealing with PACs in a high 5-20% burden for several years now and I’ve just started to develop SVT (or at least ones that last 15-30 minutes.) It is so frustrating. I am going to ask my internist if I can see an EP for ablation, because having so many PACs and SVT is a nightmare. I’m glad they caught your AF and hopefully they can do something about it.

Im in North Carolina - just had 2 SVT in past 7 weeks - at work no less - so depressing....been having these for about 12 years - usually every couple of years. But I am totally tired of dealing with this and depressed - I have a electrocardio physiologist doctor appt in a week or so

Which magnesium are you taking? I watch a KZbin channel called York Cardiology. Dr. Gupta is soooo knowledgeable about all of this AND so calming. He has a video about magnesium and which ones you should and shouldn’t take. I had purchased magnesium oxide before watching his video and he says that one is not good because your body doesn’t absorb but about 4%. The vitamin D helps with that some but he says magnesium citrate or glycinate is best.

I have svt and now I go into Afib. I had an ablation and it still happens once a month. Getting a loop record inserted next week. Everything you said is me and I’m suffering. It’s hard because I look fine on the outside side but feel awful so it’s hard while at work. It’s ROUGH and we’re young ! What gives lol

I’ve heard Andrea Natale from Austin is the best in the U.S. for Ablations

You should look up Dr. Wolf in Huston, Texas. He takes a different approach and has some great success..

What approach?? I don't want to have a 2nd ablation.
