OMG you are so right! I just started watching SVU recently. (I recently downloaded Peacock so I'm watching the whole SVU series lol). And that courtroom scene where Lewis interrogates Olivia... Oh.. My... GOSH!!!!THEY are both such amazing actors. I don't know if they both received an Emmy for that courtroom performance but they should have! " I did... What I had to do... To subdue you....." BOTH actors' performances should have been nominated for an Emmy Award.

no matter how many times i watch this episode, Olivia’s reaction immediately before and after each time she pulls the trigger and the expression on her face, convinced this time is the one that will kill her (3:11 and 3:29) absolutely wrenches my gut, even though i know exactly what happens and that she doesn’t actually die. Mariska Hargitay HAS to be one of the most extraordinarily talented actresses on TV.

This scene is one of the best scenes in television history. Also, one of the best in Law and order svu's history. Mariska Hartisky acted her a--off in this scene. This was top notch acting. Again, one of the best scenes in television history.

I wonder how the actors are towards each other after these scenes are filmed? Like I’m sure not all of that took one single day… were both like method actors and just stayed apart and only saw each other when filming? These whole scenes are gruesome, like if it’s not all filmed in one day how do they go home after this?

It pisses me off when I realized Lewis won EVERY round of this. He even went out the way he wanted to. Even when he lost, he won. This is what turned me off to SVU...the long burning story arc, but the bad guy never lost. And now there is no way to balance the books.

I’m watching this episode now on Netflix and everyone accused oliva for shooting Lewis cause of “left” or “right” hand and how his blood was on her face. The reason why she was accused was because she was on his left side! But I looked closely and j saw what he did. He did face her but he turned his head towards the left making the exit wound on Olivia to make it look like she shot him also her right hand was free so now it makes it more obvious that it was her fault. He purposely switched hands cause he knew her story wouldn’t make sense and that she would lose the case. Dead or alive Lewis would be not guilty just for shooting with his “left” hand. BOOM!

What he did was hella clever, but all it would've taken to prove Olivia's innocence was the gunpowder residue on Lewis' left hand and it annoys me to no end, that this was never even mentioned :D
