[SW] 13650 kHz - R.Slovakia Intl russian via WRN, Al-Dhabayya - assault on Robert Fico, May 16 2024

Documenting history through shortwave radio recordings: here's Radio Slovakia International russian service reporting on the assault on Slovak PM Robert Fico, which took place on May 15th, 2024.
What I present in this recording is over half of originally a 27-minutes-long broadcast, as that's how much of it was devoted to an extraordinary news bulletin. In addition to information on what's happened, numerous reactions were introduced from outgoing President Zuzana Caputova, President-Elect Peter Pellegrini, members of government, leading opposition figures, and many European leaders (Putler on the forefront!!!!!!!!) & US President Joe Biden. Interestingly, they introduced President of Poland as Mateusz Morawiecki, instead of Andrzej Duda 😂
A statement from RTVS director Lubos Machaj was also brought in, as Fico government was about to dissolve the company, replace it with another (with an acronym STVR), and effectively put it under direct state control - similar to what other right-wing government had done in Hungary and Poland (fortunately our public media have been turned away from this course as a pro-democracy coalition won power in Dec 2023).
The news says, Robert Fico underwent a complicated surgery, as he suffered from wide-ranging damage to multiple organs. Fortunately, as of the day I uploaded this video (May 19th), Fico's condition was "no longer life-threatening, although it still is serious."
The topic of the latter part of the broadcast discussed changes & tendencies on Slovak labour market, which was unrelated to the news of the day, hence I didn't include it in the recording.
Radio Slovakia International is part of a 2-hour World Radio Network relay to naZi ruZZia, heard daily at 15:00-17:00 UTC on 13650 kHz. The transmission comes from Al-Dhabayya, UAE, with 250kW. The signal is usually very strong here in Poland. By this initiative, WRN opened up an option for some international SW broadcasters to pass through Internet blockades and reach those living under Putler's war regime with factual coverage of the war in Ukraine and perceived threat of naZi ruZZian imperialism against other countries in the region. (Although if Slovakia decides to go the authoritarian route, as feared of following the assault on Fico, things may get looking entirely different...)
