Depends on what you mean with "old swedish", there is not a huge difference between 18th century swedish and modern swedish. I can understand everthing perfectly, but i think the singer is trying to sing in 18th century swedish. But the melody itself is originally medieval from eastern Sweden (Today's Finland), i think. It's hard to say since it's so old, and there are many versions of it. Fun fact: The Swedish national anthem (Du gamla du fria) is written 1844 and it has the melody you can hear in some parts of this song. Listen for yourself.

This is a medival Swedish folksong. But my main point is that you can read 1800-century Swedish text if you are Swedish. One example i the Swedish word: karta = map in English. The 1800-century spelling was Charta. You would still say it the same way.

Worth adding that this lyric, though similar to modern Swedish with almost every word the same as it is today, uses a word order not commonly used anymore. Only maybe in poetry. You never hear people talking like this in Sweden today.
