Nova Daryl WayV is NCT’s Chinese unit, they’re under a different entertainment company (Level V) because of the tension between Korea and China. It consists of Chinese NCT members including Kun, Lucas, WinWin and Ten (he’s ethnically Chinese) plus the three new members. NCT has no set limit of members so members are put in units based on who fits the concept, that’s also way there are multiple members in multiple units. NCT Dream is based on age, all of the members are teenagers, NCT 127 is the Korean unit (127 is the longitude and/or latitude I’m not sure of Seoul) they’re supposed to be a fixed unit, NCT U is rotational (they’ve had different members in each comeback and certain songs, and WayV is Chinese. Think of it kind of like a magazine. NCT as a whole is Vogue and NCT 127, DREAM, U, and WayV are Vogue Brazil, Vogue Italia, Vogue China, Vogue Australia, etc. A lot of bigger groups like NCT, EXO, SEVENTEEN, SUPER JUNIOR tend to have subunits so that they can utilize all the members talents and strengths, reach various audiences and markets, and maybe even give the more underrated members a chance to shine.
