Nice video, here's a tip that might not be obvious but I my many years of experience I can tell you that it is 10 times more dangerous to be wearing gloves around power tools that bare hands. While it might seam like they are "safety" gloves the reality is if that saw or a drill grabs that glove, it's gonna pull your hand in and do 10 times more damage to you than a little nick or cut you would get with bare skin. I've seen many of these accidents on job sites, in manufacturing plants and in lumber yards. NEVER wear gloves when working with rotating tools!

Amen! Avoid jewelry too (but less dangerous than gloves).

in this case i totally agree to clint. Being a maschine builder and now certified engeneer for more than 40 years. The most lost fingers or serious hand injuries i have seen are produced by gloves caught by saws, grinders or rolling tools. Therefore it is strictly forbidden to use them in my buiseness. We don‘t have hands like a model but we have excellent hand cleaner....

Surely the solution for SWAG would be to locate and center drill the holes from the backside of the plate (but only partway). That way the customer could identify and finish drilling just the holes that they need for their particular saw?

I totally agree with the extra holes and slots, on mine they tend to act as snag points for smaller pieces when I'm cutting narrow or small pieces. Other than that, I love my stand, I have used it a heck of a lot more than I thought I ever would and would buy another if I needed to.

Thanks for the careful review, very helpful. It looks like table wobbles side-to-side, since the side legs are not secured to each other. I think I'll give some triangulation to the side legs so it's a solid platform. Also, note that SWAG now offers a bare metal undrilled "blank insert plate" for the stand. Drill and countersink just the holes you need for the saw.

Making separate plates for each make and model of saw would cost them a lot more. Not only is inventory control going to be more complicated, there will be that many more CNC programs and setups, which is also going to add to costs. The way they did it makes the most sense.

Liked, subscribed. At least the holes could help collect chips that might otherwise lift a workpiece. I appreciate router tables and table saws with grooves in them more now, after using completely smooth tops. I used to hate seeing them, but they do have some purpose. Not the same I know. 3:20 I agree with you that SwagOffRoad cheaped out on the mounting plate and yeah they should make one specific plate for each specific model! 8:00 another reason makes assembly more complicated than it should be. But when you ever change model of bandsaw or even brand of bandsaw then your covered with the extra holes but most do stick with one perticular brand and just upgrade from old to new model within that brand so in that case Swag could eliminate half of holes in the plate version you ordered.

3:17 that plate is why I wont buy one and made my own instead. That nonsense should not be tolerated at that thing's $170+.price tag. How hard is it to have plates specific to the popular saws? Not very. Swag is either silly, stingy, greedy, or all of it, and any one of them is reason enough to keep all that cash in my pocket. My 3/16 remnant sheet sheer-cut to size in 4 plates was $26, it then took me about 3 hours to cut/drill/fit the top plate, plasma some openings in the sides and weld it together.

I have the older HF model (the Chicago Electric #62800) mounted to a SWAG offroad stand. The material on the right side of the blade hits the saw motor casing by about a 1/4" as you slide material through (the left side obviously does). Does the Dewalt have the motor and frame assembly off set enough where longer material would clear? My HF one is wearing out and time to replace. Thank you for your time.
