If you bend a 1/4" plate the neutral axis is at 1/8" or centerline of the material.. Material on the outside of the bend will stretch and the inside will compress.. If the radii of the male die is 1/8", there will be a roughly 3/16" radii on the outside of the bend (1/8" rad. plus1/16" to the outside radii).. I hope this helps.

That is a great kit. I should order one as I really need a brake. I can have my everlast out and get it welded up in an afternoon.

Looks like the middle piece got bent a little and he was trying to hide it lol. There must be no connections to the center or end piece except for on one side of the bent material to utilize the fingers properly

I’m a bit disappointed in that the new models don’t include that nice rear measuring attachment any more. The one now isn’t very useful. It should be available as an option, with the holes in the brake punched as in the old one so as to be able to accept it. I suspect cost was the reason, but it would be nice to be able to add on. My finger brake didn’t even come with the Swag name embossed on it, and I bought it from Swag!.

That didn't really seem like a 90 degree bend. Could it have been from the over design of what you were making causing it to look like it wasn't a 90 degree? I hope that makes sense.

Could you use air over hydraulic press with your system?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I plan on welding up one of these with my everlast and putting in an air over hydraulic press in. Should work the same.

Is the base the same width as the full size kit post to post, so you can switch from full size to finger dies?

Our Press Brake and Finger Brake kits are the same size, and are interchangeable if you have both.
